Sony game advisory panel

Hi the search is broken so i cant search for it, but if there is a topic that anwers my question please link me to it. thanks.

today i got an invitation from sony to join their game advisory panel. i took the 12 page survey and qualified for the panel. they asked for my address and said they are sending me a welcome kit with some goodies. my question is....does anyone know whats in the kit? im sure there are some panel members here so let me know what you got. thanks in advance!

They send you a hat and a members card. The hat is pretty cool, its a fitted grey hat that says 'game advisory pannel' on the back.

have you been asked to beta test anything yet? how does that work?

my email said this is by invitation only but i think it helps to have already sent in an underground registration card (with all sony products) and to be a member at playstation.com

I didn't get a shirt or hat. I got a PS2 game wallet, some Playstation Sationary and a Playstation pen. I guess it varies on when you're accepted, which was long ago for me.

hey even that would be cool, i love promo items so i really dont care what i get since im sure it will be cool. have you done any beta testing?

that is what i got too.

and no i haven't done any beta testing.they sent me that stuff and that was pretty much it.no more mail or emails,no nothing really.kinda lame,but a free pen i guess.

have you been asked to beta test anything yet? how does that work?

1) They sent me the wallet as well. It's actually something that I might have paid money. It's got a zipper pouch on the inside cover, about 6 sleeves put put games and manuals, and a foam memory card holder.

2) I beta tested Killzone (online features only). I think online capability testing is about the only thing you get to test. Sony sends you a disk to get online with, you mess around, and go back to their forum and report the glitches. It was still pretty neat to try out the online section game though about a month before realease.

Well when I did mine, I got a hat, a notebook with slots to hol dmemory cards, games, and paper ( I am assuming to write cheats, and such down). Also get demos from time to time, and have beta tested 8 or so games, inlcuding socom for psp. Just got the holiday demo disc in the mail as well.

this year's Holiday demo disc
the faulty Holiday demo disc last year (still have it)

War of the Monsters demo

another demo I cant recall

I think I demanded a shirt from them once for something (they sent it). I also got to vote for the cover art for that Jet Li game awhile back.

I got the CD wallet and a certificate. I agree, that wallet was very high quality. I was suprised when I saw it. Been getting free demo CD's from time to time since then and of course, plenty of short surveys to fill out. I imagine your game preferences determine the types of demo's you'll get.

yeah it says just randomly it will send you beta offers once you are a member. so i guess you could get 1 offer in 8 years or 8 offers in 1 year! the thing i was reading today was that they are starting to send out beta testing for psp games! i would love to have a promo beta psp game in my colection! people are talking now (they have a little message board) about how they just got done testing socom 3 a while back and raw vs smackdown 2006, and final fantasy 12 is next on the list for beta testing!

i beta tested jak x racing, and had the offer for 25 to life beta and socom but the socom beta sign was screwed up because you had to use the psp to sign up for it... :(

why didnt you sign up for the 25 to life? also, did they send you an email to sign up for a beta or did you click on something on the website

the send out invites for the beta testing, i have recieved 3 so far, but missed the signups on 2 of them.
you have to get to the sign ups fast or you dont get in.
they only take so many people, and as far as i know its first come first serve.

I Joined the GAP about 3 years ago. I got a little binder thingie like numerous others have mentioned.

I've Beta Tested (Online) SOCOM 2, Everquest Online, Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Aersenal. I've been sent email offers to try and beta Hot Shots 4, KillZone, JakX, StarWars BattleFront2 SOCOM3 and a few others, but have missed out due to the limited amount of people let in, as I dont get to try and apply till the afternoon which is always to late.

what the heck do they mean on the first page by asking for platform? Like how much time in the week I spend on that system regardless if I'm online or not?

kaaaay I've made the panal? I pretty much claimed I never play my PS2 and I'd spend like an hour helping beta test a game.

i think i put that i play 10 hours of ps2, xbox, and gamecube! that application is silly sometimes!

i cant wait to beta test some psp games!
