Aladdin is a good one.

Gunstar Heroes can often be found used for under that much, but not on eBay. (But it might just be good enough to buy the system for.)

Streets of Rage 2.

Rocket Knight Adventures.

Dynamite Headdy.

Golden Axe 2.

Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine

All of those I have found for under $5 at some point. Some might go for more on eBay.

Jurassic Park and Vectorman are both great common games. Ditto on Alladin and Rocket Knight Adventures. Basically, anything Konami did for Sega was great, but those might average around 10 to 12 dollars a title on ebay.

Sonic.

thats all you neeed.

And keep in mind, Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, and Sonic & Knuckles are the ones that are "good." Sonic Spinball, Sonic 3D... not so good.

I'm sure some people like them.. but they don't compare.

What's neat is: you can put Sonic 2/3 ON TOP OF Sonic & Knuckles and play through the older game with Knuckles as a character. It's great.

I feel like pointing out that there are a TON of really great games that cost a bit more. Once you decide to get one of these, ask us for a REAL list. :)

Just post any "must must must have games" as long as they are below....below 15$. THX!

Toe Jam & Earl is great but that'll probably cost about $15.00. Well worth though, IMO.

They're all pretty common and I love each of them to bits and pieces.

Must-haves:
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
Stupid name, a great puzzle game.

Ecco the Dolphin & Ecco: The Tides of Time
Two underrated gems. The atmosphere is incredible. I prefer TToT, which is my favorite game.

Alisia Dragoon
Another sleeper hit. A great action platformer.

Recommend with reservation:
The Ooze
Okay, this is pretty much hated game, but I like it, thanks to its great b-movie feeling and campy humor.

Sub-Terrania
Genny's answer to Thrust. Fly in narrow caves, fighting against baddies and gravity. It may take a little time to get into and it's a bit on tough side, but still a nice game.

I'm sorry but Shadowrun and Warsong are HARDLY common. Both are rather rare to come by. Contra: Hard Corps is reasonably uncommon too.

Really? I was under the impression that they were all reasonably easy to find. Too bad the rarity guide is down :(

Zero Tolerance is a FPS that does an amazing job given the limits of the Genesis.

Dune is a great RTS game that may be a little harder to find, but the price for it has been dropping.

Robocop vs. Terminator is a great platformer/shooter, with an awesome set of hidden features.

Shadowrun isn't that uncommon. In fact I got a complete VF/NM one off ebay for $8.00

Flashback the Quest for Identity is one of my favorites.

The Xmen is pretty good too "Not xmen - spider man"

Well, I have to add that if you ever see Warsong or Shadowrun for $5 or less in the wild, snatch them up fast!

I loved the commercials for Zero Tolerance back when it came out. Wish I could find someplace to download it (the commercial from). Seems like all of the usual vg commercial sites lack it :(

On a tangent, the game and its sequel are freeware now (I don't remember if they're public domain or not?) so you don't have to feel bad about download the roms to play in your favorite emulator (hint: Fusion) :)

I probably would have liked Dune: Battle for Arakis a hell of a lot more if I hadn't already played the dickens out of it on PC (it was my first game when we upgraded from a 286 to a 486). Shame the remake and sequel weren't nearly as good :(

Good call on Forgotten Worlds ;)

Can't believe no one has mentioned Revenge of Shinobi. You can get that pretty cheap and it's a real classic fun game. Was one of the early Genesis titles that was really impressive..

Don't think you'll find Gunstar Heroes that cheap, but you can always get lucky with Sega games.

Some others:
Aero The Acrobat (brainless platforming)
Castlevania Bloodlines (might find uit cheap)
Columns
Dragons Fury
Ghouls n' Ghosts (maybe)
Insector-X
Hellfire
Street Fighter
Out of this World
Road Rash
Vectorman
Landstalker (I got this at Gamestop for a few dollars but I think I was darn lucky)

Later,
Trebuken

P.S. - Now you need a 32x a Sega CD, and a Master System Converter....

Batman
Castle of Illusion
Earthworm Jim 1 & 2
Golden Axe
Lion King (I think it's a good game, the SNES version is better though)
QuackShot
TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist
Toy Story (better than the SNES version)
Wonder Boy in Monster World (I don't know how much this game costs, or how rare it is, but I loved it)
World of Illusion

Oh, and every Genesis owner should have Altered Beast in its collection.
