I was just toying around looking for 3DO games and i noticed one site listed D no Shokutaku: Director's Cut. My question is what the hell is it?

I know it's the Japanese version of my beloved D, but i had no idea there was a director's cut or what it contains. Does anyone on here no anything about it because i'm having trouble finding any.

as it says this is director's cut and Warp added and expands couple of scenes rendering new footages...

one of my old video magazine VHS has an section on this title and shows the difference...

I myself am still looking for 3DO copy that is not cost more than 700 yen... :(

Hell if i could find one for 700 yen i'd still buy it. But i love D.

off the top of my head
d for saturn
d for psx (longbox version and jewel case version in the us)
d for 3do
all of the above in all available regions
d directors cut for psx (japan only)

d2 u.s
d2 jp
d2 jp 4 different collectors cases (here is an example http://cgi.ebay.com/DREAMCAST-IMPORT-D2-WARP-HORROR-ADVENTURE-NEW-SEALED_W0QQitemZ8227534370QQcategoryZ62053QQssPage NameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
so there are 5 total d2 jp versions

the d series is very very underated. i thought d was one of the best and most unique games every made. d2 was a game hardly anyone played but everyone should. it had a great long story and was very unique, combining gameplay elements from resident evil (walking around parts), myst (exploring parts), and quake (action parts)

glad to see there are other fans of the series!

If it's the one I'm thinking of I used to own it. I didn't notice any differences within the game itself, but it came with a single-track cd soundtrack disc and another disc that looked like it was some kind of interactive novel.

I also used to own a 3dO version signed by the entire Warp team but I sold it at some point. :(

I only mentioned it because I have horrible memories of going through about 1671267126 different systems trying to find one that it'd work on, all the while wondering why I didn't just get the Saturn version.

This Director's Cut sounds like fun, but I think that I may persue D2 or Enemy Zero first.

though D2 is different story altogether from D though with same main character...

yea, 1500 yen is about $13-14 but I consider that is expensive when most of 2nd hand games goes for $5-8 or less unless in high demand or rare... :p
