By new system vibe, I mean the feeling you get when you find a brand new system to collect for. The time when you only have a small handfull of games where you play them all, even the bad ones because that's all you have. There is a certain magic or novelty to this. Many of my other collections are so large that I have games I've never even played before. When I sit down with those systems I'm just overwhelmed.

I imagine many of you will be experiencing this soon with the 360. For me right now it's the turbo grafx 16. I've had the system for a number of years but can't say I've played it for more than a few hours. Then finally last weekend I got a turbo express and I'm thrilled. I only have 7 games, but I am having a blast running through them all. (I'm also running through batteries too!!) I was going to bring my GBA on an upcoming trip, but now I think I might pack the Express.

Anybody else get this excitment with a new system?

You basically just described my childhood. For my NES and SNES, I had only 3-5 games for each, but damn, I knew those games inside and out. If anyone knew Castlevania 2 or Zelda 2, it was me.

This is exactly how my childhood was.

Oh and yea I'm having this experiance now with the Neogeo.

I had that most recently with the DS, and I hope to god I'll have that very soon with the 360. I'm going to be crushed if I can't get my hands on this system...

When I got my white astrocade(last year), I totally went bonkers because I had never played anything like it. I stayed up to the wee hours at night with some friends playing it. I was so paranoid of getting the system hurt, I shut it down every 90 minutes to cool of about half an hour. I love that thing! Dogpatch, Incredable Wizard(Wizard of Wor), and Artellery Duel ROCK!

Getting a new game console is always exciting. The new games to play, the new controller to get use to etc. I love the feeling. :)
