Hey all.
Thought I'd offer a quick plug for an excellent new(ish) site dedicated to Sega's MegaDrive-related formats (MD, Genesis, Mega/SegaCD, 32X, etc) that I've been helping out with: http://www.guardiana.net/

It has evolved out of a French site originally dedicated to Landstalker and other 16-bit RPGs, but now features the most detailed database I've seen for all MD/Genesis-related games (currently just over 1200 seperate titles), with cover pics and details on releases from all regions (Japan, US, Europe, Brazil, South Korea, Asia, Canada, Australia + more) aswell as reissues/special editions/etc.
Integrated into the database is a nice collection listing feature (as an example, you can see mine here (http://www.guardiana.net/members.php?id=96)) which also offers a neat visual representation of your entire collection by clicking on the little [+] button at the top of the page.

The bulk of the site is still in French, but an English version is currently in the works. I've been getting along fine so far with a combination of high-school French and Google Language Tools :) German, Portugese and possibly Japanese versions are all also planned.
Also in the planning stages is a complete hardware database to complement the existing software listing.

The forums (http://forums.guardiana.net/index.php) offer the opportunity for discussion of all Sega 16-bit stuff, and there's an English-language sub-forum that has just been opened (here (http://forums.guardiana.net/viewforum.php?f=28)). Several of the French members can also speak good English, so don't be afraid to post elsewhere either...

While the database is pretty detailed already, it's still growing on a daily basis too, and any information on missing games, variations, cover scans etc are all very much welcomed - the website staff are very good at updating it, and new information is usually added within 24 hours.

Most of the members so far are based in Europe, but we're starting to expand beyond that now. I don't think there are any US-based members yet though, so come along, have a look, and join in & help us out if you can! :)

Nah, I'm still wasting far too much time on here too (and the work over there also benefits the DP MegaDrive section ;) )

To be fair, I've only helped out a little with Guardiana, the huge bulk of the work is down to the French staff who have done a fantastic job, and are continually adding new discoveries and tweaking the site. It's shaping up to be a great resource... :)

Pretty sure this doesn't exist.

Eh, what can I say - I guess I'm just an all-round MegaDrive-tart ;)

Pretty sure this doesn't exist.

Maybe they'll believe you if you tell them Burning Rangers and Cyberia don't exist for the Mega Drive...

already warned :) but in fact these two appears on an official game list from Tec Toy, the mention : " rien ne prouve son existence à ce jour " (nothing make us sure that this game really exist) explain that. I think, in my case, that it most interesting to let these games listed 'cause like I've read in a poem : "Tant qu'il n'a pas été prouvé sa non existence, supposons donc qu'il existe et rêvons" :D ( As long as it was not proven its nonexistence, let us then suppose that it exists and dream (or something like that)) ... or it was something like that ^^
should probably add this sentence.

Definately one of (if not) the best Mega Drive sites around- And I finally signed up to the boards too, which I said I was going to do when cyberguile popped into the hyper forums :)

Now someone just needs to get the english forum kick started :P

Welcome aboard! :) I guess the English board has been pretty quiet so far since I was the only member with English as a first-language (and there's not much fun in talking to yourself!), but hopefully we can spark some discussion there now...

One thing that might be viable is a thread to try and sort out the mess of Australian releases - you did seem to get a real mish-mash of Ozisoft/Euro/Genesis titles over there, not to mention all the reissues etc, so we could try making some progress on that - I'll start a new thread for it when I've got the chance (probs not 'til tomorrow evening tho'...)

If we get many people speaking only english, I'll try a little translation of the "big" topics such as "made in korea" or wathever.
Actually, the main topics on the forum are:
http://forums.guardiana.net/viewtopic.php?t=197
where you are invited to post any cover you found was missing in the database and:
http://forums.guardiana.net/viewtopic.php?t=210
which is just talking about the database: suggestions, games you think weren't released or anything else.
Of course, you can post in english in those two (and in any others).
The forum seems big (with loans of subforums) but we actually got "only" 97 members (including many who posts once a week or less LOL). I'd say you don't miss many important infos if you can't read the whole forum, as most of them finishes on the website.

As anagrama said, the website started as a megadrive RPGs "specialist" (not only landstalker) thus it definitely has something to do with shining force's kingdom of guardiana :D

A little bump to say that we have reached the 3000 versions with a little anticipation on the us release of Beggar Prince. Wanted to make the 3000 a little bit special.
I was actually waiting for the release date to list it, but already had more than 50 games to add so... :D

A bump for a big update !
Most of the site available in english now, and big improvement of the database.
Check it out !

Sexy, ain't it ?
We really need american and brasilian collectors' support to add back and side scans to the database ( trying to get this for all games:
http://www.guardiana.net/database/?id=4#v9 )

Also, we are working out on evolutive multi-languages versions, so the website could become an international megadrive museum 8-)
