As many of you know, the DP Wire is Digital Press' biweekly email newsletter. One feature of the Wire is a compilation of all of the games to be released in the 3 weeks following the release date including any preorder goodies.
Our long-time Upcoming Releases Columnist Tholly has requested to step down from this position, so that he has more time to focus on other activities. He has kindly volunteered however, to show his replacement the ropes.
The position will require a fair amount of responsibility and will involve deadlines.
If you have any questions, please post them here. If you are interested in the position, please PM me telling me a bit about yourself and why you want the position.
Thanks!

First off, I am sad that I had to leave my job, but real life commitments (i.e. Senior year in college + finding a Grad. School for I/O Psychology) have taken up most of my free time. I find it harder and harder to get the list done and most of the time I am getting it in very last minute. I don't want to keep the rest of the Wire waiting for my section, so I have stepped down to allow someone else the job.
I involves getting as much info together as you can about all the games and umd movies coming out in the 3 weeks after the Wire release date. Accessories, systems, and hint books are not added, as you probably know. The list can take anywhere from 1/2 hour (during the summer, when very little games are released) to a few hours (like now, during the peak holiday season.)
Any additional questions can be directed to me or dreams and we will both try to answer as best we can.
When a new contributor is found, dreams will let me know, and I will contact them with more information.
Tony

while this is not the reason i am quitting, the answer to your question is no
at first we had hoped to contact companies and get games in order to review them and put the reviews in the wire, but that didnt work out so well ..... ie, none of us got any games for free

THe greatest perk is how happy you are making everyone else and the good work you are doing, that tops any earthly gifts that you would get, and the earthly gifts could be taken away from you at any time, but the hppieness that you provide hundreds of people for a minute, will always exist and be a huge perk in the job. I know I get very happy and make friedns happy when I read the upcoming releases section and when I tell friends of upcoming release dates, and the happieness from my friends is passed on to me for I made them happy, and my happyness is passed on to the job holder for he made me very happy. HUGE perk. BTW, not saying free games and junk isnt cool or good or anything, just it isnt the bigest thing that matters and there are other free perks to the job, even if you cant hold them in your hands.
Thank you so much for your work tholly, I will miss your name at the top of this section. You have done a great job man. Hope you guys find someone three forths as good as this guy, tholly, to take this job up. Just that much, and we will have an exelant person filling the job. Youve done such a great job staying on top of everything man.

Tholly you did a great job but it always bugged me that you never included the N-Gage games. Yes N-Gage games are still being released. So for whoever does it next it would be nice to see the N-Gage included. It might not be around for much longer and I know DPers love late releases. :)
www.n-gage.com is a good place to look

N-Gage was included in the list and when they were released and I saw the information, I included them.....but, your right, i never checked n-gage.com, so whoever takes over my job can start checking there and the list will be better than ever

As many of you know, the DP Wire is Digital Press' biweekly email newsletter.
I'm lucky if I get it every three months... I think I'll subscribe again. I don't get nearly enough e-mail :(

Thanks for all the interest. :)
If you are interested, please make sure you send a PM to me ASAP. I am planning on making a decision by the end of the week, because the next issue is just around the corner, and with it being a holiday weekend, it's going to be a fast-paced first week.
