GameCube: Nintendo releasing a new *2-D* platformer

It will be based upon Donkey Kong Country (the Super Nintendo game) but with fully 3D environments in a side-scrolling platformer.



I can't wait! I'm growing sick of the "hover behind your character" view of modern 3D platformers. As much fun as Mario64 and Banjo-Kazooie were, I really prefer the side-view of Super Metroid, Pitfall, and Pac-Man World... it's easier to see what's going on around you.

Sounds pretty cool, and yeah, I always loved the side scrolling action of DKC...those were the days.

I might just have to go out and buy a Gamecube. I just don't wanna get caught up in it b/c i still love my PS2 :P
