I am proud to announce that my US Liscensed NES set is complete! I thank all who have helped me, as I am finished. Stadium Events finally has a resting place on my shelf. This will easily be my biggest set completed, as game sets are getting harder to complete. I thank all who helped me on this forum.

I did, but it was well worth it :D. I got a good trade for it if you believe that. The bottom line is that I am happy to have gotten my last cart. I did not think I would ever get that sucker.

congrats on the finish. Oh what it must be like to have the nes game weight lifted. I am only at a little over 500 and am very much looking forward to the day I can walk past a garage sale without wondering if they have anything I need.

But the search is half the fun. Congrats again!

That is a good question. Once I won Magicard, I knew I could get my last Nes Cart(at least). Thanks to the boards for that one! That was very lucky of me. Cheetahmen II was scored at CGE 2K4. Caltron(with Myriad box and inst), Flinstones SADP, Secret Scout, Menace Beach, and Baby Boomer all were done with the help of ebay and this forum as well. Almost the entire rest was done in the wild by ultimate luck. Almost every Nes box you see in my collection was found locally in Northern California. Hardest one to find for me was Secret Scout and Menace Veach. Not by price but just availability. I feel for anyone trying to complete the Nes set.

 Congradulations man. What does it fell like to have completed a collection for a console with so many games, haveing ever game possible for something with such a huge library. I am hopeing to someday get a complete Genny collection, and I know that it has no where near as many games as aa NES.

Is it like you have always been trying to catch something that seemed impossible to catch, like a horse much faster than you with a lot more stamina, and then you finaly caught up with it and jumped on top of it and got it, and then you are like, yay I finaly got it, and then, then, then what? Is it anything like that, and what do you do now that you have 'caught that horse'? :2gunfire: :deadhorse:

Congratulations on finishing your attack run. Have any other sets been plaguing you like the NES one did?

And is your n-gage set fully complete including the online-order only titles?

CONGRATS John,

Rick

And he can say he lives 2 miles from someone with the most insane Atari 2600 collection in the northwest. And I live 15 miles from both of you!

Congrats John, I just bought a collection last weekend and I am getting very close to completing Atari 5200 (need 2), Atari 7800 (need 4) & Vectrex (need 3).

I do not have the N-gage online ones yet, but soon I will. I have alot of options, as I am only 22 games away from SMS, 25 from 5200, and 13 away from a 7800 collection. I am also 2 away from RCA studio and 3 away from Virtual Boy. If I want to get real ugly, I am only 5 away from my Astrocade set as well, now that I got Sneaky Snake. To me, everything from here on out is gravy, for the mountain has been climbed

On a side note, I figure with me, Rick and y-bot so near, we could form a video game Voltron!!!

How many games are in a licensed NES game set?

DreamTR
11-18-2005, 12:48 PM
I'm confused, he said "licensed", but he mentioned unlicensed stuff like Myriad and Secret Scout.....there's around 770-775 I think...

11-18-2005, 02:19 PM
Great Job. :-)

BTW, does this include the yellow test carts and/or the NWC90 cart? I mean, I guess they aren't licensed, since they are first party (do they really have to license themselves?), but I thought I'd ask.

rbudrick, I think he means "games", not special circumstance carts.

I *think* that MagicCard is a rare Atari 2600 game. As an NES collector, I salute you. I only have around 55 NES games, which pales in comparison to your collection.

May the Force be with you!

Heh, it's actually called Magicard. I stupidly spelt it wrong in my original post. :eek 2:

Anyways, here (http://www.digitpress.com/DP/cmf/game.cmf?gameid=22024) it is.

That's definitely about right for the complete set, although licensed only would be a fair bit less so I'm not sure which number we're working with.

Throwing out the unlicensed would reduce the set by maybe 100 games (that's a guess).

To clarify what a I have in my Nes Collection(which I am double checking and testing right now).

I have every US game(minus variants, any Sachen, test carts, Panesian, and NWC cart). I have all of the unliscensed non sachen carts(American Video Entertainment, Tengen, Bunch, Wisdom Tree, Color Dreams, among others), but I do not feel that spending 1000 to 1500 on the Panesian games is worth it to pursue. I count the liscensed set as every game you could go out and buy that was a grey liscensed cart, and that dam Stadium Events is one of them. If I was rich or happy going into debt I would pursue some of the others but as of right now I am happy to say that I have a complete liscensed set. I have approximately 450 of my games boxed and protected, many of them the evil unliscensed games that are now very hard to find. I now want to pursue some easier sets, although I know that I will want to push up my boxed count, as most of my games for other systems are boxed.
