With so many companies digging into the past for potential sales gold, what do you think is most likely to be revived for the near future? What would *you* like to see come back?

I'm kinda surprised Namco didn't continue on with the Pole Position series beyond Pole Position II and TX-1. I guess once they hit paydirt with Ridge Racer, they saw no need to resurrect the series.

In the 16 bit era (or even on the PS1), I would have LOVED to see 2D sequels to Bionic Commando and Ninja Gaiden. (Well, Ninja Gaiden has been revived alright but it's still dead to me.)

Punch-Out!! makes a lot of sense and would be great. I am amazed Nintendo didn't already make a sequel on the GameCube though.

Agreed, but it would need to be 2D to really kick ass. It would be nice to see the original appear in a museum title too, but that'll never happen.

A 3D version would be alright, especially if it had blood effects like NanoBreaker!

I'd really like to see another Vectorman game that stays true to the originals. I'm glad they canned the PS2 one because it was a completely different game with just the Vectorman name. The PSP could pull this off quite well I think.

Good news! A new Bubble Bobble for the DS was announced awhile ago.

I'd love to see franchises like Alex Kidd, Wonder Boy, and even the one hit wonders such as NiGHTS and Ristar make a comeback. There's waaaaay too much focus on the Sonic universe when it comes to Sega and the platform genre. Let Sonic team give the blue guy a rest for a little time and give NiGHTS and Ristar a sequel.

LoL well I figured there's probably a thread similar to this somewhere back in the 9 million other threads out there, but I started this one anyways. Thankfully nobody has yelled at me about it yet so it must be ok ;)

Oh yeah, I agree with the posters on the 2d thing, I'd *much* rather see some amazing 2d sequels to the classics than ANY MORE 3d versions. There is a serious lack of 2d/sprite platformers/shooters/etc :( I can only imagine how wonderful those titles could look these days with todays hardware!!

I would like to see another Parasite Eve, there was a rumor of a re-make/sequel that never became anything more.

Eternal Darkness needs a sequel, I've read interviews that they have enough material to make another one if the offer came around.

Another Bushido Blade would be great, they could combine the things that made the first two great and have an even better game.

Sony released a neato prerendered Warhawk trailer for the PS3 that looked exceptionally awesome. I just hope it has awesomely bad acting again.

Also, another vote for Jet Moto and Colony Wars. Those games were solid gold :(

Lords of Thunder needs a sequel in the worst way possible. In fact, pretty much anything by Hudson that's not Bomberman is long overdue. Bonk, Air Zonk, Adventure Island, Milon, Star Soldier... so many classic liscenses ignored.

Also, Playmore needs to get out of it's KoF/Metal Slug rut and finally give Crystalis the sequel it so richly deserves (or at least a better remake than the crappy GBC one!)
