1.)Saturn machines never scratch the discs right?
2.)Is it alright if I just turn the power off whenever I have finish playing with the game, wait for it to stop spinning and take it out?

Welcome to the world of Sega's most underrated console! It's an awesome system if you know japanese... and it's an awesome system if you DON'T know japanese! Get yourself some Astal, Layer Section, and Virtua Fighter 2 (all available cheap off ebay) asap! Enjoy! 8-)

Right.

You could yank the plug out of the wall by the cord and swing the console around over your head like Roger Daltrey until the centrifugal force eventually yanks the CD out of the console, but I'd strongly advise that you don't.

Ok, ok. The reason I'm asking is because I heard, for CD based systems, you just open the lid while the game is still running, and then take it out. I always thought that method was, I don't know, bad, and exhaust the motor out over time.

I shut mine off with the game in there all the time, unless I'm done with that game. It still works six years later and it was used when I bought it.

It doesn't scratch up the discs or anything right?

Criminy, why would it? It's spinning the entire time you're playing a game. LOL
I understand your desire to not harm your games, but c'mon. Unless the sky falls on top of your console while it's running, you'll be fine.

Do you think I or anyone else would play the $100 plus games out there for the Saturn if it scratched them?
