This *kind-of* has something to do with emulation. I have been recently playing around with FreeSCI (a Sierra SCI interpreter for the DC among other platforms) and have been trying to play Kings Quest 4. Anyone who is familiar with the game knows you need the manual to initially enter the game (it asks for a certian word on a page). Well, does anybody have this manual in pdf format? I cannot find it anywhere. Thanks in advance.

Well, if I were you, I'd just hunt around and download a cracked version. There are many out there...I think I had cracked copies of both the AGI and SCI versions at one point. If you want to try to apply a patch yourself via some hex editing, I know there are a few documents online. I can link you to one, if need be.

You know, it's very strange. I downloaded a cracked copy and it still asked me for the page word in FreeSCI. I then hex edited the binary and applied a crack myself...still...same thing in FreeSCI, although it appeared cracked when booted on the PC. Strange eh?

That's strange, but I guess it makes sense in a way. hmmmmm...I don't know what to tell you, man. I've passed up KQ4 many times in a thrift shop for $5, because all those other random PC purchases were taking up too much space. I can't actually find a manual anywhere online, I've looked. I was going to suggest you pick up the King's Quest Collection, but not only is it out of print, it's going for upwards of $200! I'll ask around. I usually don't put this much effort into helping someone with software piracy, but this is Sierra!

The kicker is that I actually purchased all the King's Quest games at one time or another (I was big into them when I was younger) and after moving twice and throwing things away, I no longer have those disks or manuals. THe only way to get a manual through Sierra is to send them a scanned photo of Disk #1! After all these years I think that is just rediculous. I appreciate any help man, but if you cannot find it don't sweat it. I just thought it would be nice to play the game on the Dreamcast with the VMU save support and all. Luckily enough I do still have my Leisure Suit Larry 2 manual...hah :) Again, any help is greatly appreciated.
Update: I was able to find game manuals for every Kings Quest, althought, with my luck, the one KQ4 manual I downloaded is corrupt, while the others are fine. Murphy's Law I guess...
