I let my Xbox Live subscription run out, and started a brand new account (a great way to change your Gamertag name without having to pay $10), and it wasn't a very big deal to me, cause I'm not a points or achievement whore, and I pretty much refuse to buy virtual product that I can't later resell to somebody else (thus I never purchased any crap with Microsoft points).
