SOmeone at gamestop said this was only available to pre-orders. Do you think the slime controller will be a collector in the future?

Well, the part about the pre-ordering isn't true...some store's allotments may be limited to that, but it isn't universally accurate.

As far as it being rare, I wouldn't be surprised. Whether it's from a low supply, high demand or both...it'll probably become hard to come by one way or another.

How much does it sell for? Not a big DW fan, but I think it looks funny as hell and would buy one if it doesn't cost that much.

It sells for $40...way too much for me.

I saw one at my local EB. Left over from the pre-orders, perhaps? Is it worth buying?

Anything beats the regular PS2 controller...........

I'll buy it as soon as I can just to have. I may even just keep it in its box unless I can open the box easily without ruining anything in the packaging.

It's really a fun-looking controller. Not sure about the rarity, but I may try to pick one up.

This is not going to be rare, they made 10K of them....

same goes fot the Hori Katana Controller, but they destroyed a crapload of those, so only 3,000 made it out.

/em feeds the troll <throws a fish> "Good troll!"

At any rate, Since controllers are universally compatible, and these are so common and easy to get in other places worldwide, It would only partially be rare for the US Version. And since most people don't really collect controllers... I wouldn't count on it being rare in any way.

I picked one up, but mostly to display in my gameroom. I'm a sucker for that damn little slime.

It hurts me not to open it, either... but I feel this one just might be better to keep in the package. Not like I plan on using it to play with, anyway.

I love the slime, but never actually got all the following it has. But I'll buy it to display too. I'm buying the game today. The controller will wait.

Ya, I might have someone grab me it for xmas, but I usually don't buy stuff for my gameroom to display like that :)

But what about Final Fantasy VI? (I'm rooting for you!)

We have 2 or 3 of these that were not pre ordered at my store.

If its the same as the ones they had setup at the DW8 kiosks at E3, I will have to pass. So uncomfortable, and a tad too expensive for me to buy with the sole intent of showcasing it.
