Can you believe some clueless schmuck traded Rez in to GameStop for a measly $20 store credit?!!

My boyfriend and his brother are now the proud owner of this hard-to-find game, those lucky bastards!

Never in the year that they've been working at that GameStop had they expected a gem like this to be traded into them, and the other day, someone just handed it right to my boyfriend's brother to trade in. He tried his best not to exclaim in delight and processed the trade and immediately put the game on hold. Yesterday, my boyfriend and his brother split the price of the $45 game between them. After their 15% employee discount and using some money from store credits, they only had to shell out $23 cash. Their giddiness rivals mine when my boyfriend bought me Gitaroo Man. They are the object of envy of their co-workers.

Man, what an awesome game. Those lucky bastards! I can't stay jealous for long, because I remember that in a couple years, we'll be married and any gems in my boyfriend's collection will become half mine :)

What a idiot I can't even think of why someone would trade it in. I have not even seen the game in any of my game stores. Lucky for you and your boyfriend though :)

Expect to see more come in probably... the game has been reprinted.

:)

Maybe the original seller(the guy who traded it in) knew about the reprint and was trying to get rid of an extra copy?

So... ($45 x .85) / 2 +tax = $23?

Does not compute.

Still, great find though.

Exactly. And you'll probably be able to find used copies on Ebay pretty soon for $20-$30.

I guessing that what she meant was that after discounts and trade credits they had to *split* $23...

Yay! Game store employees taking the best stuff for themselves! Hooray!

It was reprinted you can find it for $40. So why complain about employees taking all the good stuff.

He didn't say $23 each, smart guy. $23 total.

Preach it brother!

Rez is a great game at any price but I still never felt it was rare as the majority made it out to be - same thing with Gitaroo Man (at it's original release). I would see copies of Rez for $50 at gamestop all the time about a year ago. The "what a moron" trade in finds I've come across at game stores have been a complete copy of Klonoa: Door to Phantomile for $12 and a Namco NeGcon controller for $7. Those were the prices I bought them at mind you, so the people that traded them in probably got like $3 and $1.50 respectively.

For some reason I thought I read they only had to shell out $23 *each*. Guess I imagined that last part.

I wasn't trying to be a smartass.

Testify!!!

I was at an EB one town over and the employee was showing off here purchases (trade ins) to the other customers. She had a boxed Dragon Warrior 4 and an Ogre Battle for PS1. The box was full of other RPGs but didn't stay to see what else she had. I too discouraged to stay.

Not necessarily, I could be a gay guy :)
But no, I am most definitely a woman (last time I checked)
That just goes to show how stereotypical the world still is about gamers. People just assume I'm a guy. I'm not annoyed or even insulted, though. I'm just thoroughly amused LOL

Same reason I saw a kid trying to trade in a CDX, failing, and then taking the $10 cash I offered him for it. People are retards.
