Got a call around noon today, my friend said he found an arcade game on a treelawn and took it home.

I go to his place, and couldn't belive what I saw. A working Depthcharge machine! Worked fine, the cabinet looked a bit beat, but that's to be expected. The sound even works great.

Since the rarity guide doesn't a real price, what would be a good price for this, as he really has no intrest and would rather sell it.

Maybe $150-200 or so, YMMV. Depthcharge is of the "older" ilk of classic coin-ops, so it's gonna take a person who really wants that particular game to pony up any kind of big offer. Your average gamer would pass it up in favor of something with a little more pizazz, especially given that space (and the hassle of moving it, upkeep, etc.) are of prime importance to someone who just wants a machine to play every now and then.

I really dig the old Gremlin coin-ops, but I probably wouldn't be willing to spend more than $100 on it.

Out of curiosity: does it have a weird stink to it? Like grungy sweat? I've noticed that on several old Gremlin games... just wondering. :)

Black and whites from that era are my favorite games to pick up. The unfortunate is that they're generally more difficult to find, especially in good shape. The fortunate is that very few people actually care about then, which brings the price down tremendously. There's very little demand for them, despite how cool they are.

That said, I'd pay no more than $100-$150 for one personally (and if you're in the New England area, then contact me :P).
