Anyone getting the Red DS? Mine is being delayed...

I preordered from Gamestop. Maybe not a wise decision. It came out today 11/28, I called and they said Wednesday. I'm a little disappointed. I know big deal, two days but the internet says available TODAY.
I have patience but I don't get it.
Should I never preorder again from Gamestop?
Do they suck that bad?
I am looking forward to playing some wifi with folks in DP land. I also promise not to quit early if I'm getting smoked on Mario Kart.
But it has to wait right? I want to get my money back and just go to Wal Mart and buy it outright. I think I'm pissed over the principle of actual release date vs when I actually get it. What are my rights?

I see this every week a game comes out. The date that is listed on web sites is the shipping date of an item, so stores usually get it the day after or so, unless its a big name title, then they'll get a one-day shipping deal.

I wanted a red DS, but with x-mas coming I highly doubt I would have been able to get one from my store. I was lucky that I got the one I have, we never seem to keep the DS very long.

total hell, love to hate that place. I live just north of Fort Worth, Texas and they built not one but FOUR within a 10-15 minute radius. I'm not in the sticks but I was far enough to enjoy some peace n quiet for a while.
I wonder if I could get my deposit back and tell them to screw themselves and walk across the street and buy it tonight?
In the meantime, release dates/ship dates need to be aligned, it's very misleading. I know some of you bought the xbox360 last tuesday, given that example, release date stated was exactly what took place. That is of course comparing apples to oranges.

I could have caved and grabbed a Nintendogs bundle......ironically, my friend did and picked up the teal Nintendogs bundle YESTERDAY, he'll be pissed......but no way, I wanted the Mario Kart red machine or nothing. It even comes with a checkered flag wrist strap and Mario Kart sticker pack. How cool is that? Very much worth the agonizing wait. I'm gonna play this thing to death. :-P :-P

How much you wanna bet there'll be an Animal Crossing bundle for Christmas? LOL

Animal Crossing is a great game in itself but in a bundle, I wouldn't pick it up. It will probably be easter egg purple or something hideous.

Not entirely true. WalMart had them in stores yesterday.

Then either they're getting early shipments, or getting same day shipments.

If you're reserving, or buying at a Gamestop or something, the date on the site is the shipping date.

Thats what every DS bundle (a bundle being system and game) released has been running. Ive never seen one cheaper unless your getting one lucky on ebay or from a flea market or something.

I've been doing MTurk hits to save money for one - I'm about 2/3rds of the way there right now. A few more good days and I'll have mine :) And Animal Crossing out next week! Yippee! Gotta buy two copies of that, however. One for the little lady and one for me.

I picked mine up this morning. This is my first DS, and overall it's pretty cool. I am a bit dissapointed by the screen brightness, especially after playing my newer model SP. Is there any way to adjust the screen resolution on these systems?

The stickers are stupid. The extra wrist strap is pretty cool though. The color is great. I was afraid that it would be painted red, but the plastic itself is red, so no worries about the paint coming off. The bottom is still grey.

I finally got mine last night. It and a bunch of games were paid for already and apparently these MK DS are in such short supply that the owners of the game shop went to a competitor to get mine so that I wouldn't have to wait any longer. The sticker pack needed to be more "Mario Kart-ish". The checkered wrist strap will stay in the box and I'm using the regular one.

It's far more comfortable that my PSP was and that was the main thing that I was looking for, or I would have kept my PSP. I'm very pleased. I have a lot of games to take a look at before I decide which to play first.

I did start my beagle puppy in Nintendogs. Wow. It shows just how far games have come.

The system is red on the top and silver on the bottom it comes with stickers on a sheet you don't have to put them on.

To be honest, the silver bottom sucked too. But I've owned it for a couple of months now and enjoying the wifi gaming. I have a losing record in MKDS and addicted to Zoo Keeper.

Mine should be coming tomorrow! But that sucks that Mario Kart only comes with a paper sleeve. I'm still really excited though.
