I met a guy locally that found a sealed case of N64 systems brand new in a wharehouse and plans on selling them on ebay at $155. I am thinking about getting one but I want to know if you guys think that it is a fair price. I looked on ebay for completed auctions and also on amazon and could not find a price. It is the original gray model. What do you guys think? This about the price for a sealed N64 and a fair market value not about the system and much used ones sell for or anything like that THANKS

I haven't seen any lately either and that is way I think I will buy one while I have the chance. I don't want the pokemon one or one of the colored ones.

I would say that is too much. Somewhere around $100 would be a much more realistic number. It also depends on which system versions and the condition of everything too.

Grimbal just found one at a local Wal-Mart by my house ... $50. Maybe that's an idea? Look at older Wal-Marts, Kmarts, etc. Heck I found a Toys R Us that was still selling Saturn games and accessories just a couple f years ago.

That much money is too much in my opinion, keep looking on Ebay. Im sure you will find sealed systems for cheaper moola.

Yeah, that is definitely way too much for a sealed N64. I've seen them around for much less than that.

Definitely seems to be a bit much, I'd think.

Too much. I wouldn't spend $155 on a BNEW N64, unless it was the Orange Pikachu N64.

Yepper...

U should be able to get it for half that, at least.

By the way, I'm in Austin as well - so I'm curious where you found this guy...

No he didn't, he's buying them from zellers (canadian company) they have them on display for 99$, some watermelon ones etc.

YES...it is too much.O_O

The only exception would be if it were one of the special colored versions. Think about it...unless you are a collector and plan on keeping and displaying it in a sealed box...once you remove it from the box its value drops to $50, maybe less...no matter how clean it is.

Ebay, a local flea market/pawn shop...go buy one there for $50 (or less)...hit the dollar store, buy some q-tips and cleaner and clean it up. :hmm:

Same here. Although not out of cheapness. This console just isn't all that desirable IMO (sorry N64 fans).

Something I've noticed in pawn stores is that the N64 console [when used] is always priced lower than a used PS by at least a good margin. I seem to recall when it was the 32B era a N64 went for more though.

just would like to say DP has a more educated opinion than all the people that visit ebay, I say list atleast 10 at first at that price and see what happens.

Considering when we got our first N64 brand new in '97 it was only $149! @_@

OVERPRICED TO THE EXTREME!

I paid $60 for my NEW Smoke-colored N64 last year

Dont spend $155 on a regular one

uhh.. personally i wouldn't pay any more than 30 bucks.. that's just me but seriously, no matter how mint condition an N64 is it's just not worth $100...

Chronodriftersx

I'd only be interested in a colored N64 and for half of $150 if it was mint and complete or new.

Well since this is a thread about new N64's, anyone know where I could find a new (including box) Pikachu Nintendo 64 for less than $100? I really, REALLY want one. :(

Yep. Rang up at $49.96. This set is the one with the extra purple controller. I believe this was the first "special edition" set Nintendo made for the N64. When I saw it I put it on layaway and picked it up earlier today:
