How do you guys feel about paying 5-7 bucks for the Xbox Live Arcade games? Would you consider these part of the XBox 360 collection? Seeing as their are official, and you do pay for the full versions of them (except Hexic HD).
So far I bought Smash TV and I'm damn glad I did. Holds true to the game, plays very nice with the 360 controller. Online co-op, ability to blast choice tunes during play, acheivements (some which seem impossible to acheive), etc etc... Good 5 bucks (400pts) spent if you ask me.
And most importantly, if anyone else wants to play some co-op Smash TV, let me know (I've yet to try the co-op).

Well I don't think it's necessarly not a bad thing but it's definitly something that's not really worth the money
I mean it's great that they do have it there especially since the new features
but I would say it would be even better if the games were included on say an xbox arcade cd that might have like 10 games for like 30 bucks or so but i dunno it's just seems expensive for some games.

I bought Geometry Wars and Zuma and when i get my 12-month subscription i'm gonna get bankshot billiards.
Geometry wars and Zuma were definitely worth the price of admission. They're simple and they're fun and it's worth 5-10 bucks for a good time killer.
Becuase these games are addictive and so cheap and easy to get i can see a lot of people buying them.
Geometry Wars is visual sex in it purest form and at only $5 it's priced to move.
Zuma reminds me of Bust-a-move and that's a great thing. The game is just addictive as all hell.

I have Joust and Gauntlet and to be honest I played Joust for almost a day before I put a true 360 game in the system.

From the games Ive heard/read about, doesnt seem to interest me. Are you able to try out the game at least once, to see if you like before you buy it?

All the games are free to download and play to test out. While many on this forum are going to complain about either the price or not being able to have a disc copy of the game, this medium is going to be the closest thing to legal retrogaming you are going to see on the new systems. To me it is pure genius. I know that Jeff Minter is involved with the Xbox 360, I just pray that he releases some of his games on the unit. I agree that the price is hard to stomach for the games that were released on the Xbox already(espically for the midway games), but if you consider that these games have XBOX LIVE MULTIPLAYER then the price becomes easy to stomach.

I can definately see myself buying some of these games to play online co-op in. Don't feel like playing a game of Madden, play some Smash TV to a custom soundtrack, all while talking to your friend. Sounds good to me, and for $5...that's less than the cart would cost anyway. And I don't have to go and hookup my (now non existant) Super Nintendo.

Geometry Wars is great. Well worth the five bucks. I'm totally hooked on the Bejeweled 2 as well. I think the game selection could be (and hopefully will be) fleshed out, but what's there is alright. Its a nice in-road for independant developers that could be a really great thing if exploited properly.
And to whoever asked if you can try them out before you buy--you can. Just download the demo for free. The only difference I can see is that your high scores aren't saved for all the world to see. Geometry Wars at least seems like a complete copy of the game. Cheapasses can play as much as they desire.

I just got done with a whirl with the Zuma trial version, damn fun little game. I wish it were 400 points and not 800 points though, hmmm, maybe the price will drop in the future, or I'll give in, one or the other.

Trust me it's worth the 800 points.

LOL I know what you mean. I always get owned shortly after I hit 100,000 pts. I can survive without a single death all the way through to that point most everytime I play, but after that, all bets are off. Great fun. The high scores in the millions are impressive. I'm just trying to get to 250,000.

I love Geometry Wars. it is the only game I have downloaded. I have thought of getting Zuma, but am undecided. i want them to release Contra, Ikari Warriors, and TMNT II ( the 4 player arcade one)
