Was wondering how everyone had the collection wired up, electrically I mean.
I'm bringing this due to my recent score of a commercial grade UPS, it even has a battery back-up so if the power goes out I can still play games for up to 4 hours!
Now that kicks ass.

A 6 prong wall adapter with 5 surge protectors plugged into that - all full. Of course, I keep it unplugged when not in use so I don't cause a brownout in the city :)
4 Surge protector each coming out of there own outlet. No daisy chains to risky.

Mine's a mess of powerstrips (about 40 systems)...I really should get some protection for those...

eh, I've got a UPS, but it's connected to my breaker-tripping monitor and secondary computer. Just a protected power strip for the game systems.

Nothing. I plug my classic systems in as needed. No mess, no danger, no problems. It's also quicker than digging through a mess of crap trying to figure out which plug is which.
I had a UPS for my computer, a very nice one. After about 18 months it started shutting my computer down at random because it thought the power had gone out for some reason, even though the battery still showed as fully charged.

I've got four UPS/Surge combos with about three of each type outlet on them. One I bought new, and the other three I got free because they were "broken." I just had to replace the batteries on them for $30 each or so.

There's no point to having all the systems hooked up at once, so I don't. The PS2 is the only one that is plugged in 100% of the time, and it is hooked to a surge protector.
