The Resident Evil Pure Evil pack should be a two pack of RE Zero and RE(remake of PS1 RE).... that's definately a must, that is if you like those kind of games. :)

Okay let's run the list here heh...

Bust-a-Move 3000
Cubivore
I-Ninja
Megaman Collection

Also FIFA 2002 wasn't released in Europe? I guess not considering the system wasn't out here until 2002. Also FIFA 2003 US version only seems to run in 50Hz (most bizarre).

Quite a few choices there...just a few thoughts from yours truly...

MVP Baseball is probably the best baseball title available on the system. I love playing my copy of MVP Baseball 2004 (I bought the XBox version when 2005 came out). You may want to go for the 2005 edition with the most recent roster updates. Apart from that the two versions are pretty similar. The MLB Slugfest games are a different take on the game and quite a bit of fun.

Aquaman is horrible, stay far away from it. I've also heard pretty much nothing but bad things about the Army Men games.

If you're going for one Madden game, I guess it makes sense to get the most recent one which would have the most accurate rosters and advanced features. I think you mean NFL 2K3...I don't think the 2K2 edition came out on the system, did it?

I've never played Swingerz Golf but I know my nephew likes that game a lot. I think he likes it more than Mario Golf.

On that list, there's three games on my "to get" list:

Alien Hominid (you already know about this; didn't it make it to all three platforms?)
I-Ninja (western-developed ninja action game)
Resident Evil: Pure Evil (this is simply a combo of Resident Evil remake and 0, which I'm gonna pick up for collecting purposes).

Out of the rest, no clue. Maybe I'll pick up MK: Deception some time, and some I simply don't know much about (Haunted Mansion, Cubivore, Zoids - always popular in Japan) but possibly, concievably, might want to pick up.

Be warned about Blowout (this is the system I bought it on). That was quite simply the worst $20 I've spent on a new game. Lots of promise but it looks like the budget was slashed so what's left is a very rudimentary, flat shooter with a good control scheme and dumb looking enemies (and who thought it was a good idea to have them "pop out" of the screen so you could see the terrible, low-res texturing?)

@Mayhem

yes, FIFA 2002 wasn't released here because the system launched later

i'm of course aware of the fact that that's not a game i need if i have a newer version, i just didn't feel like removing stuff from the list ;) (as a matter of fact, i DO already own 3 of those games and know about a couple)

@Rogmeister

no, i meant 2k2, according our DP list that one made it to the Gamecube, 2k3 came out in Europe, that's why it's not on the list (i even own it, great game!)

Swingerz Golf i might check out, but i need to get Disney Golf (PS2) and Mario Golf first *blames the money*

@Ed

yeah, i knew about Alien Hominid, it has only been released on PS2/Xbox over here :(. But i'd prefer a gamecube import over the PS2 domestic release

I-Ninja also came out on PS2/Xbox over here, it's high on my wishlist already :)

Blowout i already own LOL bought it after some people recommended it right on this board, it's not a bad game, i had some fun with it, but it gets boring and the controls are annoying imho

I'm probably going to end up with some that others won't...

Alien Hominid - Awesome, if you like the original flash game. Try it (it's in the DP arcade!) first though.

Blowout - It's a 2D sort of game, and it plays the best on the GameCube. It isn't great by any means, but it is a nice diversion.

Freestyle Street Soccer - Honestly, I really like this game. I find it really odd it didn't come out in Europe at all, as it seems made for it.

Go! Go! Hypergrind - A very, very unique Tony Hawk-esqe cartoon skating game. If you can get it relatively cheaply, it's worth checking out.

Intellivision Lives! - If you can't get this for any other system, it's worth looking at for the GameCube.

Mortal Kombat: Deception - Same as Intellivision Lives. I have both it and the Xbox version, and they are both rather similiar.

Muppet Party Cruise, The - I love this game. It's the humorous style of the Muppets combined with a bunch of wacky mini-games. Essentially, Mario Party with Muppets, but in my mind at least easily worth the $10-$15 you can find it for, often new!

Pac-Man Fever - Mario Party with Namco characters. Interesting character selections, to say the least. The mini-games aren't as good as the Muppets Party Cruise ones, but the way you win the matches is really cool.

Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection - Best pinball sim ever, period. Easily. If you like old school pinball, you need this game for some console. Unfortunately, the only game that has its emulation botched is the newest one on there, but when I went to Pinball Expo a couple weeks ago, I recognized some of the games I hadn't seen in the real world before and felt right at home on them. Get it for some console no matter what.... and thinking about it, the issues I have with the final table might be fixed on the Cube version, as it came out like half a year later. I picked it up recently, but haven't tried it on the Cube yet.

PK: Out of the Shadows (Disney's) - A good (although kinda easy) Disney 3D platformer. If you like that sort of stuff, this is good. 'nuff said.

Space Raiders - It's great for a while. It's an interesting update on the shooter concept, although the box proclaiming, "From the makers of Space Invaders!" is very strange... It seems like they got locked away and didn't do anything for years. The game is cool though, although a little on the easy side.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Mutant Nightmare - If you like the other Turtle games, 3 is just as good :)

I-Ninja is good...not great but good.

Also "Swingers Golf" was released here under the name "Ace Golf".You should really hunt down a PAL copy cause it's easily the second best golf game behind Mario Golf.

Chicken Little,Pac Man World 3,Ty 3 and Chronicles of Narnia(which is awesome btw) will be released in europe too.MC Groove Dance Craze and PK:Out of the shadow(under another name though) is out here already.Spirit and Spells too under the name "Castle Helloween".

I have imported these:

Cabela's Big game hunter adventure 2005: I usualy don't like killing animals but to be honest: GET it! no joke. It's really awesome and you won't believe that such a redneck game offers (much) better graphics than WW2 fps like "Medal of Honor" etc. *laughs at EA*

Cabela's Outdoor Adventures: Also great but MUCH harder.

Midway Arcade Treasures 1: getting 2+3 soon, best compilations avaiable

Alien Hominid: just get it. Oldschool action deluxe

Blowout

Space Raiders: Space Invaders in 3D.Great fun for 2 players.cheap too

Pinball: Hall of Fame: uhm....some old pinball tables to play.why not? it's cheap

Good luck finding "Tonka Rescue Patrol". It's my Nr.1 game on my "US-only cube games to get"-list. I couldn't find one copy in 1 year.

Stay away from:
Triggerman ....just horrible
"Fairly Odd parenst" games in general
"Mary Kate and Ashely:Sweet 16"

not a US game-related but I just picked up a UK-PAL copy of "Bloodrayne" for gamecube which wasn't released in germany. You might grab it too cause it's a very nice game.

btw: Were you already lucky in finding "Taxi 3" for cube?

Mortal Kombat: Deception - Same as Intellivision Lives. I have both it and the Xbox version, and they are both rather similiar.

I would get it for gamecube cause it has 2 bonus characters(Goro and Shao Kahn) who aren't avaiable in xbox and PS2 versions.
Midway should really burn in hell and die a horrible death for not relasing it in europe. x_x

@ hydrox: Please inform me when you find "4x4 Evo 2". I'm searching for it rather long too.

aaaaah, i already thought so but couldn't find any proof it's indeed the same game :)

Chicken Little,Pac Man World 3,Ty 3 and Chronicles of Narnia(which is awesome btw) will be released in europe too.

i know but i did not feel like removing the announced games from the list, especially seeing as there's no guarantee they won't get cancelled for europe

MC Groove Dance Craze and PK:Out of the shadow(under another name though) is out here already.Spirit and Spells too under the name "Castle Helloween".

ah, didn't know about Spirits & Spells, btw, the name is Castleween. MC Groove Dance Craze?? i really don't think that's out as PAL, under what name??? the Phantomias game, which one is it? cause i don't think it's the same as "Donald Duck: Phantomias"

"Mary Kate and Ashely:Sweet 16"

not even on the list i posted ;) (released in the UK)

not a US game-related but I just picked up a UK-PAL copy of "Bloodrayne" for gamecube which wasn't released in germany. You might grab it too cause it's a very nice game.

i've got it, still struggling to defeat that giant spider beast in the swamp

btw: Were you already lucky in finding "Taxi 3" for cube?

no, but i'm too short on money to actively go for it right now anyways, i bet you can get it over priceminister.fr or sth

The only games I saw on your list that I have played on the GameCube are Midway Arcade Treasures 1 and 2. I recommend both, but the first is a bit stronger IMHO. It contains 24 titles including many must-have classics such as Joust, Defender, Robotron, Spy Hunter, and Gauntlet. The second volume has more recent games, with more emphasis on fighting and multiplayer games, such as Mortal Kombat 2 &3, Cyberball 2072, and Xenophobe. There are some problems with the second volume, however, including a couple of games that play too fast (Wizard of Wor and Pit Fighter) and some really poor quality video interviews (they are basically un-watchable). Actually the extras on both volumes are kind of haphazard, so you will want these primarily for the games themselves.

Other games from your list I have played on the PS2 are Pinball Hall of Fame and Namco Museum. Pinball Hall of Fame is good, but I find the PS2 version to be somewhat buggy. That aside, the graphics are impressive, there is a good, if small, selection of tables, and the game play is addictive. Namco Museum is good as well, and it includes several major classics including Pac Mac, Ms. Pac Man, Galaga, and Galaxian. However, many of these games are also available on Namco 50th Anniversary, which includes additional titles such as Bosconian and Rally-X. Exclusive to Museum are Pacmania, Pac Attack, and "arrangement" versions of Pac Man, Dig Dug, and Galaga. Pacmania I am not very fond of, since it's basically a slow version of Pac Man where you can't see the whole board with a jumping feature added. Pac Attack is an OK, though not outstanding, Tetris-style puzzle game with a Pac Man theme. The three "arrangement" games are basically updated versions of the classics with improved graphics and sound as well newer game mechanics such as boss battles and powerups. I like all 3 of these, and I actually think Dig Dug Arrangement may be better than the original.

@ hydrox: Please inform me when you find "4x4 Evo 2". I'm searching for it rather long too.

Strangely enough, I picked this up last week when I was over visiting QoF.

And the proper title of the dance game is "MC Groovz Dance Craze" (according to the box). Never seen it here. It's pretty much gone from US shelves now that DDR Mario arrived. I was lucky to still find it last week. One complete copy in over 20 shops when there were still quite a few about when I was there last in August.

4x4 Evo 2 is one of the best off-road racers I've ever played. There are lots of licensed trucks to choose from and the courses are huge - I've enjoyed cruising around them as much as racing them. The mission mode is pretty cool too.

Blowout is pretty decent, but don't pay more than $10 for it (and less if possible).

Pinball Hall Of Fame is one of the best pinball games ever. If you enjoy pinball you seriously need to check it out.

NASCAR: Dirt To Daytona is supposed to be an excellent racer too. I while ago, I made a thread about which NASCAR game I should get on the system and it got the most recommendations. I haven't played it yet though (I just bought a copy online and I'm waiting for it to arrive in the mail).

Sports are sports, don't see the point of importing one of em.

Off that list, I would suggest I-ninja and Dr. Muto. Personally haven't played either (Ininja is on my need to get list) but I've heard GREAT things about I-ninja, and that Dr. Muto was original enough to warrant giving it a try.

Midway Arcade Treasure 2's video quality is fine in my opinion though it could be a lot better, but it gets the job done.

And Pac-Mania isn't an exclusive, it's also on the 50th Anniversary Namco Museum.

I didn't realize that; it isn't mentioned on the packaging. Thanks for pointing it out. I also see that Galaga '88 is on 50th Anniversary as an "unlockable" game.

Really?

In searching for the DDR Mario game, which for $50.00 I would buy anyway, I ran across MC Groovz Dance Craze _everywhere_. It was $30.00 with mat.

Considering I saw so many of them, I decided to look for a review before buying, even though I'd like another DDR-like game, as I play Feet of Fury all the time but I think the two DDRs for the DC sucked. Anyone know if the mat is decent? If it is, I'll pick that up and when I get DDR Mario Mix (whenever it comes back out), I'll have two.

It took me forever too till I realized that it is bloody easy to defeat:
Just make sure you can activate your rage-mode(by pressing Y i think;you know when the screen turns redish and you dismember your opponent).Kill some zombies BEFORE you reach the boss to make sure you are in ragemode. Then wake up the boss, shoot or hack it's feet(so that it falls to the ground),now activate rage-mode and slay it's stomach. It should be dead in a minute or less.

btw(little spoiler alert):
just wait till you reach the goddamn nazi-boss in his driving altar.I'm trying to kill him for over two weeks now and no luck at all.

I guess they never shifted your way then LOL

Even as recently as August, when QoF and I did our game trawl thing, just about every shop (and 100% of the EB Games we visited) have at least one complete copy, if not more. And that's almost 30 shops I figure.

Come last week, and we find ONE complete copy at Best Buy of all places. Many shops had the dance mat by itself selling, as a second mat for DDR Mario buyers, but the package with the game in? Almost gone. We did ask a few shops if they had any in the back, a couple replied they had run out of copies (at last), probably on the back of the DDR Mario release.

DDR Mario btw was EVERYWHERE we went. The big shops such as Best Buy and Circuit City had literally piles of boxes stacked of it. This was before Black Friday though, they may have all shifted that day for all we knew.

Yeah, I'm sure that they were, but I think it didn't do anything to help sales of the game. When I saw that, my first thought was, "Wow. These people haven't done anything else notable since the '70's."

Having said that, upon seeing the Taito collection for Xbox which declares "Space Invaders and 26 other games" or something on the cover, I guess that's what Taito wants to make us think.

Megaman is better on PS2 or xbox. Better control. More extras.

What else are the marketing guys gonna do? I mean they did take that semester of iconology. Wouldn't want it to go to waste now would we? Or perhaps Taito kept the team that made Space Invaders in cryostasis untill recently. LOL
