I have an SNES that is the same way. works great..in black and white.
Very wierd. It's not the RF out becuase it's the same with RCA cable.

Try switching your channel select switch over to the other channel, I have had that happen to me on a few of my CV's, then switched to the other channel and it worked fine and in color. Hope this helps!
