As an RPG fan there are a few. I played Lunar SSS on Sega cd with my wife (before she was my wife) and we had such a great time. We played through the whole game together and that was great.

I agree that, as an RPG fan also, there are many moments like that, but my favorite, even to this day, is the ending in the original Lunar: EB on the Sega CD. Such a touching and sad ending.

The end of Metal Gear Solid 3 when Big Boss is standing on The Boss's grave. It blew me away. Henry Gergson-Williams music just mad the scene perfect. Even just hearing the music moves me.

Also the torture of Snake in MGS3 was quite powerful as well.

Pac-Man on the Atari 2600...probably around the moment I put the cartridge into the machine and turned on the power.

To this day, it still chills me. Who needs horror movies?

WOW! I say this only because me and the little woman followed up Lunar SSS and played this title too. I am a lunar fan, yes. These 2 games however also make me a sega cd fan as well. I know that may not sit well with many fans, to them I say play these games through. Add in a few other titles and maybe it will be a different experience for you...

probably when i realized that my wife had become a serious gamer as i am, or picking up night stalker on the intelly for the first time in 20 years as i was only 4 and it was a vague memory, lotta nostalgia there, for that matter playing kotor for the first time and finding out i was the badass everyone kept talking about, 8-)

In "The Ocarina Of Time" when Link leaves Kokiri Forest, he's talking with a brunette on a bridge ....
Just thinking about that while listening to this music -- "The DaVinci Code" WebSite Background Music (http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/davincicode/site/index.html) -- is quite moving ....

Watching helplessly as my friends died off in Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh.

Why did I have to lose Therese instead of Jocelyn?!? :(

Excellent choice. AMFV is one of the most thought provoking games ever.

A study was actually done and found that the death of Aires in Final Fantasy (I can't remember which one... 7 I think) was the most emotionally moving scene ever in a video game.
For me, I can't remember specifically, but I'm sure it would be in Ocarina of Time at some point when Link plays the Ocarina.

Yeah that was a sad scene. Sadly for me, some dickhead at Border's spoiled it for me.

I always thought the ending of Secret of Mana was sad. Not wanting to kill the Mana Beast, and knowing that Sprite was going to dissappear when it was done. That was very sad.

Also, the end of Fallout. Need I say more?

Hey, that was mine! :)

Here's another that touched me, but in a happy way.

The end of Chrono Trigger, when they got in the Epoch to find Chrono's mom. The music and flying over the landscape just hit me as really cool. Somehow that scene transmited to me the feeling of being able to go anywhere and do anything.

Y'know how you feel when you're done work and have a two week vacation, you're all packed up and the only thing left to do is get in the car and go? Kind of like that, only with a time machine . .. um, that flies . . . and with a hot prehistoric chick and a princess, too.

In Silent Hill (PS), when the nurse Lisa Garland "bled out"- she slumps against the wall w/ a trickle of blood running down her face- that turns into a torrent...

& you, as Harry, running out of the room, & barracading yourself against the door, too scared(?) to help.

Very emotional scene.
