This sale is legit!!! I was at the mall for lunch and I picked up Kirby - Canvas Curse and Nintendogs for DS for a total of 30$. Big thumbs up to cheapassgamer.com for this!
If anyone is in the DC metro area the KB at the Ballston Mall has 6 copies of Mario Kart DS.

Bumping this... for all you Milwaukee people, the Brookfield Square Mall location is doing this. I stopped by yesterday from remembeing seeing this thread and ended up walking away with a bunch of games.
Also, before I name them all, Kay*Bee's in general seem to have greatly reduced a TON of game prices on 11/14/05 according to their stickers. It helped me make sure a score. I got all of this for $95.00
DS
Tony Hawk's American Sk8teland
Frogger: Helmet Chaos
GoldenEye: Rogue Agent
Yoshi Touch & Go
Robots
Xbox
Spy Vs. Spy
GameCube
Strike Force Bowling
Star Fox Adventures
I went to the other Kay*Bee today to see if I could score any there. The sale is not going on there -- when I asked, they looked at me funny and said that they hadn't heard of it. When I said I got some games at Brookfield, they said, "Oh yeah, Brookfield has a sale right now, but we don't." Odd.
Anyway, I still picked up:
GBA
Kingdom Hearts for $19.99
Rayman 3 for $14.99
DS
Wario Ware: Touched for $19.99
Those were the normal prices for those. I have been looking to pick up all of them in the last few weeks, and I almost bit on a $35.00 Wario Ware and a $20.00 used Rayman 3 so I'm VERY happy to have got what I got :D
Thanks for mentioning this sale!

Hmmm...there's a few DS games I've been wanting...perhaps I'll stop by a nearby location and grab a few.

Well, I was really, really surprised by how much stuff I wanted the Kay*Bee I went to still had, even though they were pretty well wiped out. I would've thought the eBay vultures would've descended immediately and left them with nothing left. Getting 8 games was about 6 more than I expected to get if I found the sale :)
Maybe you'll have the same luck!

Kay*Bee's in general seem to have greatly reduced a TON of game prices on 11/14/05 according to their stickers.
Kay-Bee Toys has been going down the crapper in general all together, with massive closures over the past year. About six months ago all the stores that were closing had all toys marked at 40% off, but it was toys only so any unsold games were sent back into the distrubtion channel.
I'd guess that this sale is to burn off excess stock from their distribution centers they don't want to get stuck with after Christmas. Could also be a way to see what stores should stay and which will close as well. However that's just speculation. It's not like traditional toys really bring in huge revenue anymore, even at Christmas.
I don't know if Kay-Bee Toys is still part of Consolodated Stores (along with Big Lots (formerly MacFrugal's) and other crapshot stores that were all dying off and needed to be branded together to stay afloat) but this is the state of toy stores in the modern age - a shame really. :(
Funny story about Kay-Bee though - about four years ago I picked up a sealed copy of Teleroboxer for the Virtual Boy for $5 (stupidly only bought one - they had a few cases sitting behind the counter) and two years ago I asked if they had any other old games and the manager produced a box of random sealed Sega Genesis games and told me she'd sell them to me for $5 each. LOL

I was in Kay Bees the other week and talking to the cashier. I asked him if they were getting any 360 games. He told me that M$ and KB cant stand each other. KB is not carrying any M$ according to him. He seemed pretty reliable. I dont know if this is true though.

Could also be a way to see what stores should stay and which will close as well. However that's just speculation. It's not like traditional toys really bring in huge revenue anymore, even at Christmas.
Supposedly, and this was sort of confirmed by the stores that I got my games at, a bunch of Kay Bee toys are getting out of the game business. The one in Brookfield told me that it was all that they had and was all they would be getting in, and the one in Southridge said that some of the stores were getting rid of all of their video games.
I don't understand why they don't send the newer ones elsewhere. It just seems dumb. Tony Hawk Sk8teland and Need for Speed DS are both new within the last month. So is Mario Kart. These are popular Christmas games, and they're dumping them cheap. I don't mind though.
And like I said, it seems like they greatly reduced prices on everything. Both Wario Ware and Yoshi for the DS were $19.99. I think they are trying to get out of games.
It makes sense -- Kay*Bee's are in malls, and all malls now have at least one video game store it seems. In fact, the two malls that there are Kay*Bees stores in have two video game stores apeice in them.
Also, by how Kay*Bee hides their games behind their desk, it is tough to actually shop for games there. You have to ask, "Uhhhh, excuse me... How much is Wario Ware for the DS?" It pretty much completely cuts off any impulse buys that go on when you see a game for $20.00 and go, "why not?"
I think Toys R Us did the same thing -- they used to be the absolute largest selection of games, and then they eliminated a LOT of them. Over the past 5-8 years, they have started to rebuild their selections, and they are finally doing well again. But enough video games sell that toy stores either need a way to deal with them in volume, or need to eliminate them to compete. Otherwise, they lose money.
I picked up my boxed and sealed copy of Cybermorph in 2002 for the Jaguar at a Kay*Bee. When there was a liquidator store going out of business in 2004, I bought a bunch of Genesis stuff there. Throughout 2001 when the GOAT Store was starting up, I was finding composite cables for the Jaguar at seemingly every Kay*Bee I went to.
They simply never had a way to get rid of older stock, and since it was all hidden behind their desks, no one could see it. To find the stuff, I would ask if they had older stuff, and they would usually say, "Yeah, we have this cabinet full. You can come around to look if you want." Found some neat stuff that way, but even 10 years after systems and games had come out, some stuff was still far too expensive.

I just went back to the one in Brookfield yesterday and got four games for $52.00:
Batman Begins (GBA)
Marvel: Rise of the Imperfects (DS)
Need for Speed: Most Wanted (DS)
Sims 2 (DS)
I'm nervous because they are all EA games and I haven't liked any of those that I have picked up recently, but I figured I would buy any of them used for $20.00, so I might as well get them new cheaper than that :)
