I finally have had some time to rock out this game.
It does a good job of making me feel like a Guitar Hero. Having beat the game at easy, I'm stepping it up to the next level. Some of the notes come so fast and close together, i'm amazed that I hit any of them (and I seem to hit them all sometimes). This game is really well designed and definitely allows you to ramp up your skill.
If you like rhythm games with weird controllers, get this game.
Some big ups:
Star mode (increases points and starts a goofy animation) is activated by turning the guitar vertically- it has a gyro in it to activate, although you can hit select instead.
Good covers of good songs. Not original songs, but close enough. The Ramones, Bowie, Cream. Most of the other songs I don't know are still way fun to play on the controller.
Well done controller. It's very responsive and doesn't feel terribly cheap. I'm wondering if I could actually learn to play guitar a little easier after playing this game.
Well paced ramp up of difficulty. Anyone think this game is too hard?
