Following a B/S thread for wanting them, I figured I'd take a pic of what ones I own...

You don't appear to have the standard, grey stylus that ships with the DS... ;) Nice collection, really nice.

Do a lot of those you have with some Japanese symbols on them come from Japan or are there ones like that in the US? Theres a lot out there though that's the most I've seen at once until now. I can't tell where all yours are from but hey are you interested in US only stylii? Seriously I know a few others, 4 maybe if you don't care if its US only.

My god, they are so cool! I think they are an important part of the collection as they really define the console (touch screen). I don't know of any others out, I'm afraid, but I bet they'll be a Pokéball one at some point ;)

well since you have the nintendogs one there, and it's produced by am3... you're obviously willing to accept any third party licensed stuff... so that means you're missing a lot.
there's US ones that come packaged with all sorts of carrying cases and starter packs... almost every retailers seems to have something different.

club nintendo offers a package of 7 in the colors of the rainbow
the nintendo store had (during their first month) a pen/stylus combo... twist it one way, an ink pen pops out the end, the other way and you get a stylus tip
i have a few promotional styluses that were given to retailers when the DS first launched... slightly larget than the standard stylus
i also ripped one off a kiosk unit... not sure if that counts, but it's technically another stylus
when the nintendogs one was released in japan, they also made more generic "nintendo ds" ones that are exactly the same... in several colors...
there's a naruto stylus holder from japan
there's a megaman stylus holder from japan
there's a bunch more... i'll post more later, when i think of them.

This is one that I got from a Nintendo REP. It's supposdly made out of a special plastic that wont scratch the touch screen like the normal stylus's do. I havnt heard anyone else having this particular stylus before. Maybe people can post some pic's of their rare stylus's also?

i've got 3 or 4 of them that i picked up just after the ds launched. they were all over ebay back then. now i don't see them very often.

I got a few of those from my local rep as well (3 to be exact). However now all i've got left is the one I kept for myself. My rep told me the same thing about it being of a different plastic that wouldnt scratch the system. I really like it because of its slightly bigger size and use it regluarly for my zookeeper playing. I did send mayhem a really bad pick from my phone that I took of that stylus a few weeks back comparing it in size to the system stlyus.

It's pretty much any stylus that is promotional, or tied into a game (such as Nintendogs, even though it's third party) that I'm after.
So the Nintendo rep stylus pictures just above I would be after for instance, along with the Naruto and Megaman holders.

well, here's a list of the ones that nintendo of japan officially endorses, similar to the nintendogs one... not sure if these are something that you'd want. some of them aren't first party, or tied to a game, but in japan they are considered "official" accessories...

and i'd think you'd still want the 7 rainbow ones offered by club nintendo in japan, and the pen/stylus combo that was sold at the nintendo world store in new york.

Yeah as a collector of Club Nintendo stuff as well, I'd be after the rainbow stylus set too :)

I was looking and looking for a pic of the Mega Man stylus - it's hard to find. I have one of 'em, but don't have a working digital camera right now.
There are also several Pokemon styli floating about - whether they're legit or not, I really couldn't say. They have really small figurines spring-mounted on the top of the stylus - I've seen two-packs with Mew, Pikachu, Torchic, and maybe one or two others.

i think i know what you're talking about, and those are actually wrist straps, not styluses... or if they are styluses, then they come attached to wrist straps. i haven't seen them in person to really analyze them or anything.
the plastic part of the strap that you'd use on the screen is shaped and painted to look like pikachu and mew...
oh, and Mayhem... if you find an easy way to score the rainbow set from club nintendo, could you possibly pick up a set for me? in case it's not already obvious, i'm something of a DS collector myself.

I know what you are talking about re: wrist straps, but these styli are not the wrist strap ones with the little nub on the end of it. These look like the ones in the following auction:

Well I've picked up a set of four Pokemon stylus thingies (will check exactly what they are when they get here!) and the Naruto one (found someone selling it on eBay as BIN).
I'll see if I can use my contacts to find the rainbow stylus set.
You'll want a Mario Kart wrist strap for sure. Mine came with a metal Mario Kart key chain/fob attached as well. Way cool.

Expensive, yes, but I actually picked one up and it really is quite awesome like the review says. The extra weight is a big plus, and the tip also works nicely. The fact that it fits in the DS like the pack-in stylus seals the deal.
