That may be the ugliest thing I have ever seen. I wonder if it is heavy or not. And if the material affects the gameboy at all.

They could at least include some other games.

There was a programme on MTV last night with some rapper on it. He's got a PS2 pad that's solid gold with diamond buttons and all. Cost something daft like $150k.

But I didn't actually see the show, the missus told me about it earlier.

The last thing I'd want to repeatedly pound my thumbs into is the hardest and sharpest material on earth. O_o

I already mentioned this in the Everything Ebay forum, but i thought i would mention it here too. On one of VH1's programs they showed a PSP that cost about 30k or something like that, and had the same basic things done to it: gold, diamonds, etc. I guess some people have a little too much time on their hands. And some people have too much money on theirs.

Why would anyone want their gameboy customized like that? It would be too heavy and the buttons would be too uncomfortable for my tastes. I wonder what it would be like to have that kind of money to blow on something like that...

Game Bling?

Amazing how even in this case the standard objection to all things GB applies here, to wit:

"For that amount of money you'd think they'd at least include a color screen and a backlight." x_x

I remember seeing an article a long time ago about some jeweler doing something similar with an Atari 1200XL. That was ugly as well.

The guy selling that gold Game Boy has no feedback either. Likely a scam for sure.

Ye i thought of scam too. But another possibility is that if he gets a bid on that, he can just purchace the one to $25000 and sell it for $30500 :)

Blah, an original Game boy for that much, and at 27 ounces that would be useless.

Shouldn't the cart slot be visible from here?

I thought that too...
But maybe there's some sort of door that opens or something. That would make sense to me.
It all seems unnecessary

Yeah, nice - Gold GB - but it's got the flaw of the Ngage! You have to take out the batteries to change the game! Design Flaw!

Seriously - that GB is quite unattractive. Take out the diamonds and it might become 'neat' looking, but those thing make it look like shit. I do like the checkered look that it has though, kinda like gold ska.

Gold is a rather heavy metal. Could the weight of the gold casing crack the PCB of the Gameboy? The lightweight plastic of the original Gameboy wouldn't have this problem of course. Also, would it decrease the value of the investment if the screen was shot (a common Gameboy problem.)

Well I know if I got it I wouldn't be using it to actually play games.

Didn't it say in the description that at least some of the buttons had diamonds on them? I think that may have been what they were referring to.

Gold is soft.

Diamonds, bro. The purer gold is, the softer. It is very pliable stuff. Usually to hardern gold, it is made into alloys, hence the carat ratings.

Ummm...don't you need a case to protect the case at that point? And a safe?

I know it was the Fabulous Life Of... but It wasn't just a case, it was the same thing as the Game Boy, I thought, and I thought also that it was as expensive.
