Volvo Xbox game

I heard from a collector that came to my store yesterday that there is a Volvo promotional game for the XBox. anyone have any word on this?

Typing 'volvo xbox game' into google confirms that with multiple sources. Anyone know if it's out, or has anyone played it?

EDIT: Well, I looked on eBay, and there were only a few copies. One sold for over $100. It comes in a regular XBox case too, sealed and all. If any of you find one of these, I'd hold on, I'm willing to bet this is going to be impossible to find very quickly.

i was thinking about checking the volvo dealership past my job on monday since its only given out by car dealers and volvo contests or special events. thats what the collector told me that mentioned this.

Wasn't there a Volvo ad in the past year or so that featured footage that looked like it came from a current-gen game? Maybe the ad was a success and the printed an actual racing game....

It just hit dealerships last week. It is free, you just have to ask for it. They pressed 100K copies of it, so it won't be rare. Good luck.

out of curiosity, how did you find the pressing amount?

Volvo's ad firm is really pushing the 100K number presumably in an attempt to make it seem like a really substantial marketing concept. Personally, I wouldn't buy a Volvo or any car based on playing a game, but it's a novel concept which I'm sure will spread to other products in time.

i called up the volvo dealership near me and they said its possible to buy it from their parts department for $12 +tax. so i might pick it up just incase cause theirs is a possiblity that they could trash the leftovers some time in the next year or so since i dont think most of them will sell or be dispersed well (possibly being xbox's ET).

but also, is their ad campaign trying to just push 100k US units or is it the world wide figure cause they may also be pushing a PAL version as well

i just called a few dealers around me one didnt even know about it, and the other had one set up on display but none for sale or promo, if anyone finds any in the new england area let me know!!

So, I would suspect the US number is roughly half of that. Of course, if it is successful, they could always press more.

I was wondering how rare this was. I just got one at the OC Marathon. Everyone that ran got a copy (and thousands were running) so there should be tons of copies on ebay soon.
