Are you talking about the strategy guide that came with it?

yes
It's actually a really funny guide, and fits the spirit of the game well. Let me know if you come across one! I'd scan mine but I don't think my scanner is big enough.

I have a pretty tattered version of the guide, I would've gutted it to produce a scan...but it's missing a couple of images.

There's multiple copies on ebay (http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&satitle=SNES+EARTHBOUND+STRATEGY) right now. Earthbound guides were occupying 3 of the top spots for SNES items on ebay pulse earlier today.

I actually own the guide; infact, I have an Earthbound that has NEVER been opened that I got from an ex Nintendo employee. I just wanted to read the guide without actually opening one, as I'm trying to keep it mint.

Lord, I'd love to scan it in, but I'd probably have to cockpunch myself through time and space if I jacked up the binding or anything. Earthbound was a Christmas present many years ago and I wouldn't want to ruin any part of it :(
I'll keep my eye out for a spare guide locally...if I get lucky, I'll tear the poor bastard up and scan it :)

btw, if anyone cares i'd be willing to trade a complete xenogears perfect works scan for an earthbound one?

...wow all of a sudden I'm somewhat tempted to do this project
even though I might have to scan those missing pages off a complete copy I have.
edit: hahaha nevermind read it a little better...ironically I think I might have a scan of perfect works somewhere on an hd...but I also own a "real" copy
If you scan most of your copy, I'll fill int he blanks by scanning your missing pages to the best of my ability. My copy is only in semi-nice shape, as I bought the game when it came out and used the guide often.

I have the guide and in good shape as well. I'd be willing to scan it but I'd have to find the time. If I get to it I will let you know.

With all of the ROM dumping groups out there, you'd figure that there were also be several manual and guide scanning groups. But I've only seen one such group, and their collection is not nearly as complete as the ROM dumping groups. It makes you wish the ROM dumping groups also took the time to scan the manual, box, and cart of a game as they dump the ROM.

Destroying original games, manuals, consoles, hardware, etc... is a mortal sin. Don't get me fired up

..I'm... going to have to agree there. I don't have a guide, and I still want to get one someday, but I can't afford ebay prices. So please, don't kill it!
But, if you want to send it to me free... I'll scan it all and upload it :D

Does it have to be cut up to scan it? I was under the impression that he was going to destroy it for the fun of it.

ok time to play damage control, trust me I love the guide, but I have 2 copies, 1 more pristine copy which I found for 5 bucks, and the other (the one that I'm "threatening" to cut up and scan).
unfortunately to do a good scan you have to rip the book apart, the reasoning behind that is the binding will obscure some text, so the only way to get everything is to carefully remove the pages with a knife and then scan...yes it utterly destroys the book, but if done properly the book is imortalized in digital form.
but generally if you see a scan of an artbook or a comic, there's at least 1 copy that was torn asunder to make the scan.
so fret not...cause in death it will be more powerful than you can ever imagine (or whatever way that star wars line goes)
but yeah it also increases the other copies' value (kinda like that jet li movie...except the book won't go all kung fu and stuff)
hahahaha lots of movie references...maybe I'll put up a poll to decide it's fate

Just make sure to put "Send to aaron7 for scanning" in the poll :p
