While this is completely subjective, of course, it's a real shame so few games received a rating above 8.

It's because of stuff like this that I never really put much stock in reviews from anyone other than friends. Hell, if I had listened to the reviews then I never would have gotten addicted to Gigawing (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/197450.asp) or Gigawing 2 (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/479801.asp).

On a tangent, I still can't believe how poorly received ChoroQ (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/921351.asp) was.

I think that reviews in general are horribly over inflated to begin with. IMO very few games should be an 8 or 9 and 10 should damn well be a near unattainable goal. The 5 star system works decently, but then sites like GameRankings misinterrupt that into a percentage based score and factor it in with the assclowns that never rate anything remotely playable under a 70. 3 stars on a 5 star system isn't bad but it has its drawbacks, but somehow 60 out of 100 is pure shit according to most review scales. Go figure.
