A rather hard headed person raised an interesting question to me, claiming some fairly illogical statements, so I'd like to see how you all feel about this.
Given the options, what is the NUMBER ONE reason you bought a 360, if you have one? Or if you intend to purchase one, now or in the future, why?
Thanks guys.

Six votes and no replies? Hrmm....
I had a hard time deciding between these choices. All three of those are HUGE factors for me, and I think I've gotta admit that another big part of it is that I fell into the big hype machine. LOL
I ended up picking the first choice - I really love each of the seven games I have for it, and I'm sure DoA4 and the other games I end up getting will be no exception.

For me, it's the backwards compatibility/media features. I would LOVE to have one of these hooked up in my living room with network access to my two pcs to watch/listen to anything I wanted to on my 60inch. I've also been itching to replay and unlock everything in all my old xbox games since my original system died, so backwards comp. is a big interest as well. The games are also a small part as well. The "inevitable" don't really interest me. Oblivion I'll be playing on the pc like every other game I have in the Elder Scrolls series, and I'm not a Halo fan at all ;D.
Now, the problem is getting one of these damn things. The only thing that is kinda swaying me away is from the lists online, it looks like a LOT of my games won't work. Fatal Frame, Panzer Dragoon, Silent Hill 2 & 4, Voodoo Vince.....

The exclusives were what hooked me. I really wanted to be able to play PGR3 and DOA4.
I don't own one yet for three reasons.
1) I put the money towards an LCD hi-def TV so that all of my current systems look way better while......
2)......I wait for the release of Elderscrolls and the inevitable price drop.
3) The launch lineup gave me absolutely NO logical reason why I should pay launch prices. The only game that wowed me was PGR3.....and I'm a huge Rare fan. I got over that "I'm cool because I got it on launch day and you didn't" mentality long ago.
I'm buying one eventually because I will most likely be insanely happy with it. I've had each of the last 3 consoles twice....and easily prefer the Xbox, which is what I own now.

I got it just because I always get the new systems. Don't get me wrong, I love old games as on the 360 I played Joust on it for 6 hrs before I even played a new 360 game.

Where is the option
To resell on eBay for big bucks then buy one next year with the profits?

Because that has nothing to do with the poll.

If I didn't have a good pc I would most likely pick one up for all the PC games that are coming to the system like Oblivion and Prey. I am waiting for a bit to pick one up for the price drop and when I get some money.

Reason I don't have one? Can't find one
Why do I want one? First revisions of consoles always are easier to mod.

A true statement has never been spoken. I love my Xbox V1.0. Such a breeze to mod, way better then the fancy new V1.6.

I think it's a combo of the new factor, neat features and the games. I think it being new is the main thing -- it looks sweet, and I want to check it out. It damn well may suck, but hell, I need to find that out for myself. The games don't look amazing, although they're respectable, but that isn't the point. The whole "launch glitz" coating the 360 makes me curious. And I'll be damned if I'm left out.
So I dropped a bit more than retail to snag one. Hell, I even got the Core pack, which I told myself I wouldn't touch with a 25 foot pole. But I can't help myself. I'm so fucking psyched for it to come that I can't think of anything else. The minute I press that ring of light and fire the thing up will be one that I'll remember for awhile. Because, let me tell you, it's been awhile since I got this psyched for a game console.

I voted "the inevitable." XBOX games aren't going to be released forever, and the big black box was my favorite this generation. It's already got some games I want, and the casual gamer stuff in Live Arcade is just my thing. Joust is here, Robotron is coming, and it's only a matter of time before Llamasoft gets in there too.
