In the US we've gotten a few different colors, Nintendogs Pink and Teal, Red and standard Grey/Silver. In Japan, they have "Candy Pink" - is this the same color as the Nintendogs Pink or a different one all together?

In Canada, my local shop had trouble getting the metallic rose colored Nintendogs machine. They could only get teal. I own the Mario Kart red one and it looks as cheap as hell. Probably the shittiest looking one of the bunch. LOL

Really? I am hoping for one that is a solid color - that is the plastic is actually the color and not a coating. I've noticed that the black GBA SP I have has held up much better then the silver one (grey plastic with a silver coating). If we had the black NDS that that is available in Japan right now, I would pick that up in a second.

My girlfriend has the Candy Pink DS. The pink DS is Japan has a white bottom with a white stylus and white buttons and looks rather classy. The pink DS in American has the stardrad gray bottom, stylus and buttons and looks like crap.

I'm pretty sure that the teal Nintendogs ones are actually the plastic color, and not just a coating. I was worried about the same thing, but if it is just a coating they did a really, really good job of it!

Agreed. The American "pink" DS looks like absolute crap compared to the pink/white Japanese version.

well technically, the "pearl pink" that we got in america was first released as "mystic pink" in australia. and the "teal" that we got was the japanese "turquoise" and NOT the australian "cosmic blue," and it wound up looking pretty good.

so i'm blaming the aussies for this whole mishap.

I'm going to get a regular one, and then decorate it with a skin from decalgirl.com - they have one that makes it look like the Retro NES GBA, and it looks like it will be sweet.

The MK red DS is not painted or coated. It is red plastic. But I agree with whoever said it; the plastic has a cheap look to it.

Yeah the Mario Kart one does not look great. The red is ridiculously bright and I hate how the bottom is silver.

The 'Japanese' pink DS was released here in the UK as well. They're already like gold dust - at the mo' they're selling for about £160 for the Nintendogs sku on eBay!!

BTW: I've got a Hotrod Red DS as well and I think it's pretty cool! I'm glad the red is really bright. It looks great with the flame decals on it!

A friend of mine just gave me his old DS (he's given up gaming, Ill explain later) Its blue, and if I may say so doesnt look too bad, the price was right! :D

Come to think of it, I dont remember a blue DS...was it some sort of store exclusive?

It was the first colour variant released in the States. The colour is officially Teal. It was later released as one of the Nintendogs paks along with Candy Pink. :)

I think the Color is Electric Blue and the "Teal" color is exclusive to the Nintendogs bundle. In other words there are 2 different blue color DS systems. Correct me if i'm wrong.

I have the electric blue, and I must say it is nice looking. I have absolutely no problem with it.

The white is my favorite.

I'd like a completely transparent one, but they probably won't do it.

Got the Candy-Pink DS in from Playasia.com - sweet! Pink on top, white on bottom, and a white stylus. Took a few keystrokes to figure how to switch the language to English. Ginger is happy :)

Congratulations on your purchase.

It's kind of funny to see that the Japanese "Candy Pink" DS has gone up in price compared to the other colors on LikSang and Play-Asia. It's apparently one of the best selling items on both websites. NOA should wise up and bring it out here.
