Hi guys, I could use some opions. I'm a gamer and not a collector, so I sell a lot of stuff on Amazon. Mostly it's new and I know the value of it easily.
I have some collectable games, though, that I've decided to sell to raise money for Christmas. I've looked online at various sites, and I posted a thread in the B&S forum, but I'm not really sure I'm offering the right prices.
How much should I try to offer these games for? They are complete and in great shape except for the Lunar music CD's -- those have been resurfeced by a Disc Doctor due to scratches on them. (Did'nt think I'd ever sell them).
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete for PSX
Lunar: Eternal Blue for PSX
Arc the Lad Collection for PSX
Arc the Lad book from Working Designs
Are the prices listed in my B&S thread too high or low for these?
Could really use some advice. :)

Run them through a disk resurfacer like the one at Sean Kellys store or at Joes new store. They will look like new. Most places charge $5 per disk to do this but if you are reselling it might be worth it.

Not bad pricing on most. Lunar SSS is high (min 55ish max 70ish. Arc the Lad book is high (min 20ish 40ish max). These are based on prior ebay prices (scratched vs. mint). But then again its x-mas and someone might be tempted.

DD, I was also going by Amazon, GameTZ, and other sites prices besides EBay -- and you know how limited the search ability is for EBay. ;) It was a average of all of them.
Buyatari, I'll ask my local EB if they have one of those. I would'nt mind keeping the music CD's, but I allready knocked some money off the Lunar games because of the resurficing.

I doubt it.
Try a local mom and pop video store that rents dvds.

Your Lunar SSSC is really high. When I was shopping around online for a complete copy a couple months ago, $65 seemed to be the average for a 100% complete copy in good shape. I'd say yours is worth a little less though since the soundtrack discs have been resurfaced.
Eternal Blue (complete and mint) usually go for $15-$20 more than SSSC.

Okay, keep the feedback coming.....I admit I placed more stock in what people are selling the Lunar games for complete on Amazon, since I use that 99 percent of the time to sell my stuff. (Note I said COMPLETE copies, a lot of them just have partials).
I'll come back tommorow and make a decision on changing my prices in my B&S thread. If I don't have anything by the weekend I'll list them both on Amazon and EBay.

Okay, I took the average of what the Lunar games have gone for on both Amazon and EBay, shot into the high range of both, and changed the prices on my B&S thread.
I'd prefer to sell them here because prices on EBay are all over the place....I see complete like new copies going as high as $140 but as low as $40. :eek 2:

It's probably too late to help you but Gamecrazy does game resurfacing as well. I think they charge $3-$5 for it, I'm not exactly sure of the price. I was at one a few weeks ago when someone brought a game in to have it done.

I just wanted to say that I agree with Tony. I'd go $65 on SSSC and $80 on EB. Arc the Lad I dunno.

Just wanted to point out that WD still has the book listed on their website for $29.99
Also Amazon generally lists items much higher then ebay's average sales price. So I'm not surprised you've overshot your estimation of the games.
Just take a look at the recent Mario DDR hype. Amazon lists their copies at $140. Ebay's selling them steadily at around $100.
If you're going to sell your games here, you probably shouldn't expect Amazon prices. Afterall those are very high end and generally prey upon consumers whom either don't know any better or are in too much of a hurry to shop around.
Also even if you have the music CDs comercially resurfaced they still lose some value. Assuming you divulge that information in your auction.
Based on an average of completed ebay auctions:
(omiting stock photos, sealed games, and non complete auctions) Averages determined by taking the 5 most recent auctions, adding them together and dividing by 5.
Lunar Silver Star Story: L:$45- A:$55 H:$60+
Lunar Eternal Blue Complete: L:$30- A:$55 H:$80+
Ard the Lad Collection: L:$40- A:$45 H:$70+
Arc the Lad Strategy guide: L:$20- A:$25 H:$30+

Bear in mind that Amazon chomps roughly 20% of the price from zShop sales etc. but has very very low listing fees - both of which contribute to the fact that there are loads of high priced items on there all the time ...

Which is why I LOVE selling there. ;) No listing fees, I make sure my item is'nt the highest priced item there in the marketplace, I get a shipping credit built into the item, and it usually go in a few days.
I make around $50-100 a month in sales there.
