Rented RR6 and it is damn fun, as well as the Online, although not as packed as one would hope.
NFS:MW, just the demo alone I've played a good 2-3 hours. So damn fun. Dunno how the online portion is.
If I had to choose one, it'd be NFS:MW. The demo is free for download on marketplace for it, so perhaps get that and see if you like it.

Both are really solid. Both look great and are fairly long.
Go with RR6 if you want classic arcade gameplay with the smoothest control yet in the series.
Go with NFS if you want running from the cops style getaway chases and Underground type races.
You can't go wrong either way.

Well beyond the fact that these are both driving games I'd say they are quite different so they cant be compaired.
RR6 is straight up arcade game play. Just pop it in and play. Thats all there is to it. It also contains fictional cars.
NFS is customization with real cars. Build up your ride and then take it to the street. (note- I have not played this game)
So it all comes down to what you desire in a racing game. RR6 gets slammed because its old school. No real cars and customization which seems to be "manditory" in todays driving games. In truth RR6 is pure fun with tight controls and is a great gaming experience. Again, its total acrade style game play. Oh yeah I forgot I guess the graphics look good in 1080i too but thats no big deal.

I thought I was going to be really into RR6 on the 360, but I honestly think it's a dud. So far, it's the "worst" 360 game that I've played.
Now, you must understand that the game is a "good" game, but it's just very ordinary. It really looks like a XBOX 1 game, running in 720p resolution ( some XBOX 1 games like Amped 2 and NBA 2K3 run in 720p). The only thing about it that would make you think that it might be a next gen game is the fact that there is absolutely zero pop up. Of course, there are a number of Xbox 1 games that have zero pop up too.
The bottom line for me, when it comes to Ridge Racer 6, is that the game just became really boring, really fast. I wanted to like this game, but Project Gotham Racing blew it out the water. I would rather play Need for Speed: MW too. I've only played the demo for NFS:MW, but I would have to say that NFS:MW is also a better game overall. RR6 is for hardcore Ridge Racer fans only, IMHO.

Well I am probably in the minority in my love for ridge racer 6 but I have played all 3 360 games extensively.
I have played about 60 percent of the single player career in pgr 3, around 120ish races in ridge racer 6's ridge universe, and I have one more blacklist member to beat on NFS:mw's career mode.
With that said....
RR 6: hands down has the best online play, the best single player "campaign", it is the fastest game yes the graphics arent a massive improvement but its slightly better looking than nfs:mw PLUS it has virtually no detectable pop-up huge draw distances, and runs at 60 FPS. It also has the best car AI of the three games
PGR 3: 2nd best AI, 2nd best online, third best single player, best graphics
NFS:MW: worst graphics, worst online, 2 nd best single player, GOD AWFUL AI... to the point of taking away from the experience.
There is no excuse for me being able to beat one of the top five blacklist racers by finishing with a 15ish second lead.... in ridge racer 6 you are lucky to win by a .4 second lead if you race FLAWLESSLY at later courses.

I think Need for Speed Most Wanted looks alot better than Ridge Racer. Ridge Racer does not look at all next-gen. Need for Speed has excellent car models and the effects make it the clear winner for graphics. As far as gameplay I never really got into Ridge Racer on any system except the PSP so I personally won't be buying it. Not to say I was into Need for Speed Underground 2 that much but from what I have played from Most Wanted it seems like the better game.

I can't form an unbiased opinion, as I've never played NFS, but I'm completely addicted to RR6. The graphics may not be as flashy as the other racing titles, but I guarantee the frame rate is locked at 60fps regardless of your resolution. The game is lots of fun, definately one to consider if arcade-style racing is to your liking. The online play is very solid and fluid as well, very few hiccups in the many matches I've played, and the single-player World Xplorer mode is very addictive.
