Xbox games playable on Xbox 360 - updated!

Fans of the Tom Clancy series are gonna be happy. 6 more Xbox games are playable on the 360. All of the games are from the Tom Clancy series.

Hmmm...maybe I should just get an original xbox. I've been wanting to replay my old xbox games since my system died and so far I won't be able to play:

Panzer Dragoon Orta
Silent Hill 2
Silent Hill 4
Tenchu
Toejam & Earl III
Voodoo Vince

The 360's backward compatibiliy won't get much use from me as I have a good working original Xbox. I'll play 360 games on 360 and Xbox games on Xbox.

Updated and then revoked all within hours. Didn't know that when I decided to buy Splinter Cell today for $5 just because last night I read it just hit BC status.

Supposively there was a problem with Halo 2 and 720p wide screen, it didn't work. It just ran in 4:3. So they pulled the update. JUST FOR HALO 2. Crazy.

I must say they're doing a fairly good job consideirng everything is done in pure emulation. After all look how long it takes the community to make an emu. Even easy tech like the original Xbox is a bitch to get running.

Now granted they have access to better documentation, but we don't know how long they've been working on it.
I'm just hoping most major bugs will be worked out in the next few months.

EDIT: Looks like they've got the videos on Tecmo products running better. It's still a little jagged everynow and then but for the most part it's smooth.

I'm glad that they are going this, but I'll tell you, xbox games are better on the xbox 1. Everyone of the Xbox 1 games I play on the 360 are weird in someway. Today playing H2 I threw a plasma grenade that didn't spark like a plasma is supposed to, in looked like a dud. I seriously can't play Xbox games on the 360.

And if you've got an older/uglier game with low-res textures or simpler polygon models like Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon (the original), it looks really weird in my opinion. Still perfectly playable, just...different.

I can't imagine how good Chaos Theory looks on the 360. I mean, it already looked incredible to begin with, but in 720+component...mmmm.

Since I work at a gamestore, I am going through and seeing what looks great and what does not matter. So far Crimson skies takes the cake for looking the best on the 360. I am happy with what I have played(20 or so compatable titles), but it is frustrating to not see popular games like Star Wars Battlefront I or II on the list. That just puzzles me O_O. In my opinion, playing SOME Xbox games on the 360 are like playing a new game.

Why even bother? Microsoft totally fucked up on the backwords compatibility, and I'm sure lost a lot of sales because of it.

Uh, if by "lost a lot of sales" you mean "sold out within a day," you'd be spot on!

And they never promised the entire library to be playable. And yes, these 6 new games are 6 huge titles on the Xbox roster, the three splinter cells which i was personally sad that weren't available.

BC will continue to get better, but for now they've really got to focus on getting units made moreso than making your favorite crazy niche title playable in 720p.

ANyone got a good guesstimate what percentage of the Xbox games this is? Looks like a pretty good sized nugget of them.

My understanding is they are releasing compatibility based on which games were most popular....basically which ones sold the most. Alas, Steel Battalion was not a huge seller, though very highly regarded.

I just played Deathrow on my 360, and it looks great and plays great and i dident think they would make improvements to a game that wasint very popular.
