A few nights ago I bored so I decide to check out CraigsList to see if anything posted any good deals on video games. Of course I get the typical ones of people overpricing their stuff, expecting to get 50 bucks for a crappy N64 system with one game. However, searching through there, I see a listing titled this: "Have These Items Left $35 and UNDER!!!"

I take a look and see this line: "Miscellaneous Nintendo 64 games UNOPENED with books"

Right away this catches my attention, so I give the person an email asking what they have. She responds that it would be easier to phone her so she could look.

I call her the next day and leave a message with her daughter. She calls me and we start talking. I ask what she has and right away she starts off with Lunar. I perked up right away and asked her to keep going. She keeps listing stuff so I tell her I'm highly interested. I asked when I could come over and see the games, she says that she's sick and it wouldn't be good for me to go over that night. So I wait till the next day and call, she's still feeling crappy.

I again wait till the next day, she's gotta go to a school event with her daughter. So I wait again. Finally, yesterday she says "Hey, how about tommorrow?"

"Yea sure, how about after I get out of work?"
"Ok, also, I kinda have a favor if it's ok?"
"Ok, shoot."
"Are you good with computers and do you have a digital camera?"
"Yea and yea."
"Cool, I just need some help with a flyer if that's ok."
"Sure thing."

I head on over today and meet her. Right away her dogs go into "OMG SOMEONE NEW APESHIT!" mode and get all attention whorey. I pet them and pet the puppies she has in a pen. We start talking for a bit and I learn that she actually helps the local shelter by helping to get dogs a good home. We talk about dogs for a bit and then she starts getting the video game stuff. Right away I see the Lunar hardback guide sealed. I look it over briefly and set it down. She then pulls out everything else and we set it down. I decide that it would be wise, to not talk about the stuff right away. So I say "Hey, how about that picture we need for the dog?"

We take the picture of the dog (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v...ds/finds001.jpg) *insert awwwww's here*

Afterwards, we talk about the games. Right before we decided on a price, she has Threads of Fate and Legend of Mana (opened) in her hands. She goes "Which one do you want?" I look at her and say nonchalantly "I'll take Threads of Fate. Also, can I get the guide since I'm getting the game?"

"Sure thing."

I then offer up "How about $40 for these?"

She stalls a bit, I wait a couple of moments and then go "If $40 isn't good, how about $50." I know it's worth more than that.

"Ok, I'll take $50."
"Cool."

I hand her the $50 and we talk some more about dogs and she shows me some pics of other dogs she's helped find good homes.

After a few minutes, I decide it's time to take my leave.

I'm gonna of course, help her with the flyer, I just need what text she wants on it.

All in all a great deal and a good story.

Here are all of the pictures I took so far, gonna get some better ones though. For you people out there: Lunar Guide, the GBC zeldas and Threads of Fate + Guide are going up fs/ft soon. ;)

Nice story. Im very surprised she didn't take the 40 for all those games though, I mean you were helping her out with the pictures and a flyer, for something most people wouldn't even of cared about

I wonder where she got that stuff and yet still kept it sealed?

She got them for her ex, but he never played them.

I am sorry (I am never rude), but what is the big deal with this lot? I don't see anything that special those Zeldas go from $10-$15 (sealed) and threads of fate with the manual does $60 tops...once again I apologize...I just don't know why this needed its own thread

Plus this lady should have given you more if you were being nice and doing stuff for here

Only wondering,
Mike

How come you can blab on about your find but he can't? (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=75958)

Mine was not so much blabbing about my find as STATING THEY WERE MISSING FROM THE RARITY GUIDE...since the NTF-2 is said to be the only grey NES test cart...and the purple snes test cart is also not mentioned in the guide

So please get your fact states before drawing false comparisons...plus kiosk carts and TEST CARTS are much rarer then zelda...

As I think zeldas are a nice find but not needing an individual thread...sorry
