Use this thread to perhaps post a link to your live gamertag and keep everyone updating with your achievement points (perhaps update every 500-1000 points)

As for myself

gamertag:

http://live.xbox.com/en-US/profile/profile.aspx?pp=0&GamerTag=Jcnet

I have 7965 points though that will soon change as soon as I beat the last racer in NFS:Mw he's worth 350 more points.

That's definitely up there with the top dogs on www.mygamercard.net,

Of course with games like King Kong that offer 1000 points just for beating the game it's not hard to rack up the points.

i have a little less than 300,but i could really care less about the points.i mainly play online games where i get little to no points.

Mine is up to 1170...I thought that was pretty high up until I read this thread. :P

It's definitely unfortunate that there are a few select games that make racking up a gamerscore ridiculously easy (Tony Hawk has almost 50 acheivements and many of them can be done in a matter of minutes, if not seconds). But that sort of balancing across every game, developer and publisher and so on is probably impossible anyway.

Yeah, I thought I was doing pretty good at 725 also. =) My problem is I'm playing too many old Xbox games that I've missed in the past. My goal is 1000 by the end of the year. Its obtainable. =)

I think what really matters isn't so much the number of points, so much as it is which ones you have. For example a PGR3 player with all Hardcore medals unlocked is someone to be feared. SOme one with 1000 Killcount games in PDZ is an idiot, er, i ah, mean skilled player.

1000 from King Kong is nothing, 900 in PGR3 is a feat worthy of a Demi-God.

I'm at 300 something. My points are mostly from COD2. I beat it on normal, now I'm going through on Vetran to get all of the points. Quake 4 is seriously stingy with their points... some of them are literally impossible for everyone but the MOST skilled players (i.e. rank #1 in the All Gametypes board nets you... 20 POINTS!). The gamerscore is pretty useless, except for comparing achievements within the same game among friends.

xmagxus

My points mean nothing with the system as it currently stands every single one of us in the top ten have a lot of cheap points.

I have 2000 points from sports games alone which = easy points so technically I only have about 6000 non cheap points.

The top guy everyone else in the top ten has 3000 to 4500 points from sports games.

The only way to make it ot the top is to go after the cheap 30 minute to earn 1000 points games. thats why the achievement point system doesnt mean much, I just made this thread out of curiosity.

I agree. Some games seem to give away achievements that are worth a lot, while others put you through hell just to get 20 points or so. Sports games in particular seem to give out a lot of points for pretty basic stuff. IMHO, as already stated, I don't necessarily think that a person's gamerscore is really that indicitive of how skilled the player is. I usually look at what achievements they actually have unlocked to determine how good they are.

Personally, I only have a score of 220, because all I ever play (in fact, I'm obcessed with it) is Ridge Racer 6, which is not all that generous with the gamerscores.

Still though, I like the idea, and I like the fact that you can look at a member's profile and see what achievements they've unlocked.

Ridge racer is the hardest 360 game to earn points in, harder than pgr 3, or PDZ even, I spent about 3-4 long days on ridge racer 6 just to get 145 points and the only two special achievement car points I have are for the crinale and the pac-man car. God the monstrous and angelus are freaking hard >< Thats why I decided to play through gun, THAW, and NFS: MW before going back to try again - I needed a break from my failures lol ><

RR6 has some pretty hard acheivements but nailing 42,000k on a cone course isn't very easy either. If you get all Plataniums i'll bough down before you.

Looking at how things have played out so far it looks like racers have the most potential for quality achievements while FPS games offer less variety and most achievements seem easy to obtain. I'm curious to see what DOA4, the X306 first figher, brings to the table in terms of Acheivements.

The easiest game I've seen achievement-wise is Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. The game has 45 total acheivements, some of which consist of getting a high score in each level - not THE high score, just A high score. To top that off, the high-scoreboards all default to 1,000 points, which most Hawk players can earn in a matter of seconds.

The single easiest achievement I've seen, though, is the Record Book one in Madden 06. It says you need to 'enter the record book', but they don't mean setting a record. All you need to do is look at it. If there's an easier achievement than that, I've yet to hear about it.

On a related note, has anyone managed to get the Geometry Wars 'Pacifism' achievement (survive for 60 seconds without firing)? I've tried and tried, and I swear it's impossible.

Veteran difficulty should mean BETTER ai NOT CHEAPER AI.

I am giving up on the CoD 2 achievements fo r now,

Scoring and surviving 100,00 I've done... my high score sucks though. I always seem to get owned as soon as I hit the 100,00 mark. Shapes start flying from everywhere, and I have to bomb like crazy just to stay alive.

I don't know if the Live Arcade version is different from the PGR3 version, and since I don't have the Live version yet, I tried it in the PGR3 version. I watched the clock and didn't shoot anything...I did it first try and last for almost 70 seconds before I got overrun with enemies.....it was the simplest thing to do.....now, if the non-PGR3 garage version is different, then I don't know.

Also, I only have Hexic HD and PGR3, so my Achievement score is only at 450 right now.....

I've got 405, 50 of which aren't from NBA Live. Seriously, completing a season is worth 100 points in NBA Live. I simmed 78/82 of the games and got my points. Ha, the gamerscore is such a joke.

I like that it keeps track of all the games you've played though. That's way neato.

Apparently 1445. I haven't started in on condemned yet and I still want to get my hands on King Kong and Call of Duty 2.

I don't really care about the achievements, but if it's something easy (like the photographer ones in PGR3) I'll do it. Helps break of the monotony.

As for PGR3, man, that game was a downright blast but I don't have it in me to go back and do all gold medals. I THINK I could probably do it but I don't have enough drive (no pun intended) to go back through 23 more trophies. Well, 22. I did the final eliminator on Platinum to get the "Earned a Platinum Trophy" medal.

I have just over 3800, something like 3864.
I have been playing the hell out of ridge racer 6, Im 50 hours in and on the final courses (final route #1) and am 975 through. If you think RR6 is hard now, WAIT until you get to final course #1, it takes even the most veteran RR6 players often no less than 4 hours to finaly beat it.

I am also missing a possible 950 points on call of duty 2 because I refuse to play it on 1 player because when I first played it not only did it erase my COD2 save, but my other game saves as well! So Im holding off on that until a patch.

Next games I want to rent/buy and get points for:

PGR3
Tony hawk
Gun

I have about 2600. The gamerscore is a cool idea done in the dumbest way ever. I played through Gun on insane which netted me about 130 points, and I don't care what ANYONE says, that is in no way easier than beating Razor in NFS which is worth 350. The points are so irrelevant to what the accomplishment is. Some of the most rediculous ones are in the arcade games.

"Beat smash tv without using a continue"

"Fuck you"

While they're a neat implementation, and give the game some extra life with unique goals, they're not thought out too well.

BTW: Does anyone have the achievement for Condemned called "Chief Investigator"? I believe you're supposed to find all the evidence in the game, but every single forensics tool scene is pretty much something you're forced into, so how can I be missing it?

PDorr3
01-16-2006, 01:53 AM

I just hit 5000 tonight, and the achievment that got me there was Private - Act 2:
Completed Act 1 and Act 2 with the rank of Private in Quake, worth a whopping 20 points. I'm playing through it on easy the first time, then moving up the difficulty ladder as I go.

Pretty sweet game I must say.

Not to mention that the achievement points are causing some people to cheat just to appear as if they are good at games.

Take the rank 1 guy at mygamertag.net for instance.

He's played by several people and isnt allowing people to pass him basically.

He cheats to get the points too.

I saw him go from 20 losses in a row in DOA 4 to 20 wins in a row in about 90 minutes, then I saw him get the 50 wins achievement and LITERALLY 35-45 minutes later he had the 100 wins achievement.

*cough BS* *goes to report him*

I don't play 360 very often (maybe 70 hours or so in non-Halo 2 play since I bought it in December), but I have around 2600. I have 11/12 in Geo Wars; need the survive 1,000,000 achievement to crack that. Other than that, I have 1,000 points from COD2, and I don't even own the game.

COD2 on Veteran is one of the worst games I've ever played. Honestly, the game is broken beyond belief. It is not hard; rather, it is cheap, unfun, and boring. The AI will spawn behind you, spawn in rooms you just cleared, and keep spawning in front of you until you cross a certain point on the map. I sat in front of a house for 10 minutes, in which time I popped about 40 or 50 Nazis inside its walls. Impressive that they could fit that many people in there...oh wait, nevermind. They just had magic-men turned on. Never again. Bad Infinity Ward. And I want the 25 hours of my life back that it took. :\

I'm sitting at.....*runs off to fire up 360*......4955 in 179 achievements in 21 games. I buy lots of games but don't necessarily play them right away apart from firing them up to play the first level. I love the whole idea of achievements. I'm currently making it an objective to "clean up" the loose achievements in most of my games. I grabbed a lot of Full Auto ones the other day.

I find that most of the games take a lot of gameplay time in order to get the goods. Hexic took a lot of Hexic playing in order to get good enough to grab the hard ones. I'm STILL working on the Ridge 6 one where you have to log 10,000 driving miles, even though I've finished the game, because I completed Ridge 6 with very few race restarts, and therefore did it with very low mileage.

I'm wading through COD2 on hardened right now. I like the way that you can at least pick and choose which level you want to do in which order you prefer, after clearing the game on easy. THAT was a nice touch. I just bought Gun.....looks like a cool game. I like it's style.

12417 is my current GS, spread across nearly 500 achievements in 25 retail games and 18 XBLA ones.

http://card.mygamercard.net/marble/Juganawt.png (http://profile.mygamercard.net/Juganawt)

that's just under half of my complete possible gamerscore (the OXM 1000 points are impossible to achieve due to an error on an xbox magazine disc, and the King Kong Kiosk Demo points are also unachieveable). Considering I just got 4 new games (DW5, TRL, BF2MC, & Hitman Blood Money - a total of 4000 new points), that aint bad.

Hardest games to get points for me are:

1. Moto GP 06 - havent got ANY achievements for it yet
2. Ridge Racer 6 - Utter bugger for getting points, so many hidden requirements are needed to get them
3. Quake 4 - Get ranked #1 in the world for a measly couple of points? No chance
4. Bejeweled 2 - just the 10 points for me on this one, that'd probably all I'm gonna get
5. Geometry Wars. Survive a Million? HA! I'll be lucky if I REACH a million, let alone do it without dying.... and Save up 9 lives and 9 bombs? I'd love to have that many.

Strange. I was going through CoD2 on Hardened last night. They don't give you the points chapter by chapter on that difficulty, but rather at the end of the whole damned thing. I said "fuck it"....and fired up the first level, Winter War, on Veteran "just to see how fast I'm gonna die"...and it was easier than I thought it would be. You just can't run in like Rambo.
