Im currently playing Sword of Mana for GBA and are enjoying it so far :)
I was wondering if anyone knew some other RPGs for GBA that uses the same fighting system as Sword of Mana. Zelda - Link to the Past also uses it (and minish cap most likeley, havnt tried that yet).
Im not that much of a fan of the "Final Fantasy" fighting system, altho I did enjoy Super Mario Saga and Mega Man Battle Network.

shining force 1 and 2 (not resurrection of hte dark dragon) are like that. also give Car Battler Joe a shot, it uses a funky drive/shoot type thing for fighting, very fun.

You mean Shining *Soul*.

Baldur's Gate:Dark Alliance saw a GBA port; how good it is, I couldn't tell you, but it sounds like what you're looking for. Kingdom Hearts:Chain of Memories is real-time battles (card battling style, not straight fighting), with an overworld-like maze you navigate between fights. I've heard the Lord of the Rings games are real-time hack and slash, too. Sigma Star Saga has Zelda/SOM type gameplay, with shooter levels added as random encounters.

And if gameboy and gameboy color games aren't ruled out, there's a whole mess of them.

You should give Golden Sun a shot even tho it's turn based, it had a good story and it really gave that SNES feel.

yes, sorry, i meant shining soul.

the lord of the rings games were quite bad.. a fun action game you might enjoy was Medal of Honor Infiltrator... its plays kinda like Cannon Fodder and has a very neo geo mvs feel to it.
