Ok...I dont know if this is a faux pas or not, but I've been a TG16 collector for quite some time, and as you may know, it's fairly hard to find resources for it. As a result, a while back I opened an exboard forum for TG16 collectors called TGnet. After it was around for a while, it kind of died out cause one of the members opened up another forum and we all migrated there. But then he vanished and the post count dried up like a desert and so now I've reopened the old TG16 forum that I used to have up. I'd like to invite anyone who's interested in TG16 specifically to join my TGnet forum. The few core members that I do have are ones that have been into TG16 collecting for a very long time and they are quite in teh know about the nuances of the system and it's many incarnations and games. I hope this is ok with DP and the rest of the forum to mention it here, but if it's not I'll delete the post.

Anyway, welcome and come one come all to teh exciting world of TG16 collecting! The forum is here (http://pub79.ezboard.com/btgnet2449) also known as http://pub79.ezboard.com/btgnet2449

Hope to see a few of you there! I hope this can be a place that will serve as a repository for TG16 related questions, game trading, and other interest!

Thanks!

There are lots of TG16 collectors here... why can't we talk about it here?

OH yeah! And one more opportunity to shamelessly display my TG16 collection =) ha

I have 2 games and will someday get a few more, but I'll have to go online to do it as I don't come across them very often.. probably pick up a few at CGE..

Ha ha DP! Your Keith Courage has no box!...oh wait.... *sniff*

We can talk about it here too..the TGnet is a holdover from the old yahoo forum, the turbografxnetwork. We had a lot of TG16 aficianados that stayed there and helped everyone with TG16 stuff, and it was a fairly close group. When yahoo changed their groups format, it kinda killed the turbografx network. I'm trying to get those same guys back to talk TG16 shop, and some of them ONLY collect TG16. It was a good group with agreat dynamic and I thought it would be nice to have it around again..a few of the core members are stiull around and periodically scan it but it's not as happening as this forum or anything and prolly never will be. This forum is so diverse and gets so many posts that system specific stuff almost gets lost in the shuffle, so I thought it would be good to allow people this option too.

I'm also inviting everyone else cause i want it to be available to a wider audience to attract more hardcore Tg16ers, but I don't want to imply that I'm trying to steal members from DP, which I have found to be one of the most amazing forums EVER! :) I just wanted to make it available since it IS there. That's all.

I'm interested in the TG16 but, to be honest, I'm not into it enough to go to another board for info..

I find TG16 stuff *really* hard to find in the wild in T.O.. The one place I've seen it was at a flea market with *outrageous* prices. So I still have only one game (Keith Courage of course), and I've tucked my TG16 away until I come into some of the games I remember playing and enjoying in its heyday (like Moto Roader and Dungeon Explorer).

It was a damn good machine.

Finding TG16 stuff in the wild around here is hard! My entire TG16 collection (deck 6 games, 3 pads and a turbotap) was one find at a garage sale last year.

Absolutely nothing since. :-(

Finding them in the wild is virtually impossible everywhere! Since I started getting TG16 stuff in about 1997, here's what I've found in the wild:

3 TG16 controllers
2 Turbo Taps
1 Keith Courage bare hucard
1 Vigilante Bare hucard
3 Sidearms huCards (one bare, two complete w/caes but not box)

That's it. In 6 years of scouring every spot I go, that's ALL I've ever found for TG16 in the wild! I have also passed up a small stack of TG16 core systems (not all in the same places), but all of them were around $10 and none had RFs, Power Supplies, or controllers. TG16 stuff is insanely hard to find, and the ONLY place to get it is online, which is where 99.9% of my collection came from :)

Count me in,maxlords.I'm a big fan of turbo grafx and i always like to look for info on the system. :D It's very hard to find games for the system.I have so far a turbo grafx unit,4 controller extension cords, turbo stick,1 turbo pad,and one turbo grafx to turbo duo controller adapter, and 9 games.Bonk's adventure,Keith courage in alpha zones,Legendary axe,Power golf, world sports competition,Time cruise,Tv sports hockey, and Tv sports basketball.
I have looked for 5 years to finally buy the system and games and etc and come up with what i had.But i still can't find the games i wanted that i've been looking for a long, long time. :(

I love my TurboGrafx and I want a Duo to the point where I've bought a few import titles in the hope of getting a system, but I agree that it's a really, really scarce commodity. The only place where can find games in my area is a flea market stall, where the vendor wants $10 for Keith Courage and $200 for a used TurboDuo.

Turbo Zone Direct is a good source, but I'm also hoping that turbografx-16.com (http://www.atari7800.com/turbo) will have some decent deals on Duos once it opens.

I only own 2 games, and a console, that is all I've come across in 6 years of collecting.

As a kid I always wanted an Express Portable, so if someone has one in good shape (and an asortment of games) that they want to sell/trade PM me. Otherwise I've been trolling ebay and when I finally find a good deal I'll snap it up. I've waited this long so I can wait a little longer.

Turbo Zone Direct is a good source, but I'm also hoping that turbografx-16.com (http://www.atari7800.com/turbo) will have some decent deals on Duos once it opens.

I don't hold high hopes for that site. I was hired by them to write reviews months ago....like 6 months ago, and then I wrote some and gave them to em, and never herad a word back. A place that doesn't contact it's writers isn't exactly dying to get open, is it? And he didn't even have a solid line on inventory when I talked to him. It was a really weird deal. Suffice it to say that I'll be shocked if it does finally get up and running. And if it does, I'd like to know why he's never emailed me to check in or anything.
