Maybe I've just heard too much jazz piano, and it's ruined me?

Exactly what I was thinking!
Imagine, somebody had to actually think up that music, write it down, and then play it for it to be in the game.
Learning how to play it is nothing compared to that.
Still impressive though. ;)

The Marble Zone was also my favorite. I've listened to this thing about a dozen times now and I'm still not sick of it.

The first thing I thought was that the piano was slightly out of tune, but that may just be the recording. Heh. But I can see what you mean. It sounds like he's heard it a few times, played it, but he doesn't really get it. He's bashing a little at the keys as well. The Mario performance was better than this in that respect.
