I got a funny email about one of my auctions - "Tales of Symphonia - Sealed & New"

BIDDER: "You are false advertising. I'm going to report you to ebay for lying."

ME: "Um. okay. Why am I lying?"

BIDDER: "You need to delete the words "sealed new' from your auction."

ME: "Oooo-kay. If I did that I'd miss potential buyers searching for 'Legend of Dragoon New' or 'Dragoon Sealed'."

BIDDER: "That's tjhe point! It is not new. It already had an owner!!!"

????????? O_O  @_@ :hmm: :eek 2: What the.....? How is a sealed game not new?

LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

How can something be on eBay and NOT have an owner, unless it's being sold directly by the company that makes it? Idiots.

But da company already owned it! The machines touched them!

Doesn't that make all of the copies sold by Gamestop and other retails used since they didn't make them either?

Welcome to ebay. At least you don't have a retail store !

Customer -> I want my money back this game doesn't work.

Me -> I have good news for you I took it in the back and tested it. Everything works fine. You shouldn't have any problems with this one. I even cleaned it for you.

Customer -> Well it doesn't work on MY N64 and besides it swears.

Me -> Well you did buy a South Park game rated M.

Then the customer goes apeshit and storms out promising never to be back. Next week there she is buying new games and coming back with new problems.

Ok. I am one of those people who says that if a game isn't sealed, then it's not new. But by the looks of this, it's actually teh buyer that is trying to cause trouble...

Naturally, I despise pre-used games, hence why I buy only sealed games. I get very uppetty when a seller auctions a *Sealed* game (With pictrue) but then proceeds to send me an unsealed one with some BS excuse like "I have multiple copies, and this is the last one... It's not sealed, I used an old description, but I can assure you it is new... blah blah blah" ~ In this case, they get a fat negative and I retrieve my money back from PayPal...

As much as I despise pre-used items, I will gladly buy a game that has been owned by some one else (So long as it's sealed as it was when it left the factory) ~ I accept that the game has had a previous, or maybe a few previous owners, but I know that it is only the cellophane which has been handled, and the item inside the plastic is untouched. This is my peace of mind.

At the end of the day, unless you are there at the very end of the production line when the game is made, it is only natural that the game has had a previous owner. You buy from teh shop, the shop was the previous owner. You buy from another person on eBay, the seller is the previous owner. In this case, I would guess that the game is at least third-hand by the time it reaches the buyer, as it would have previously been owned by A) The factory / publishing company; B) The store or wholesaler it was originally sold; And C) You, before sold on eBay...

I can understand the buyer's point of view if perhaps they had received either a resealed game or a blatently used game, but if it is factory sealed (And authenticated as such) then they really are just stirring for trouble...

Does rated M game have anything to do with it not working? Or is it because he was younger than M?
Pissing off customers isnt very smart, no matter the age.
I would just ask him/her to take the N64 to the store so you could check it.

If the game works on the Store's N64 -then the problem is not the game. End of store's responsibility.

It's not the store's responsibility to repair other people's N64s.

No, but a customer should not be complaining about a game having swearing in it if is rated M. Personally, if a customer of mine was causing trouble like that I wouldn't be too distressed to never see them again.

You may not be reading it close enough:

The only way the customer would know that it swears, is if it did actually work on their N64.

Ahhh! Missed that part. Didn't occur to me that the customer would be lying about it not working.

her- "Well it doesn't work on MY N64 and besides it swears."

me- "It swears? Really"?

her- "Yeah it's a foul-mouthed game!"

me- "I thought you said it don't work?"

her- "......um........er.......I want my money back!"

me- "Leave. Now. No Soup For You!"
