This thread should get nice and ugly with a pic this wide stapled to it :)

Anyways, the wall shelves are the new addition. You can see what I HAD here:

I think the collection is displayed much nicer now :)
I'll be updating my website with a ton of new pics that I've already taken at some point, just wanted to get this one up there now :)

That is really nice, but yeah how do you use all of the systems.

I can have any of those hooked up and playing within 20-30 seconds.

But on the other hand, I RARELY play anything other than DDR in this room. I have emulation on my mame cab for classic play. Just keeping up with modern games is more than I can handle at the moment.

Wow, very slick effect by putting all the pictures together like that.

Your game room looks more like a store. o_O A swanky store, hehe.

I actually built this whole room from a sloped cement one car garage with wallboard on the walls and ceiling last year :)

There's something somewhat... off about this.

It's the paradox of obsessive video game collecting.

Well, I started out by getting and playing my childhood favorites, then got the collector bug, then once emulation came up to snuff and especially once I got it all going on my mame cab.....
I'm more of a collector vs a player now for classic games. I have a backlog of about 20 PS2 games I'm still working on, and that's playing at least 1-3 hours per day. RPG's and SRPG's are really a kick in the nuts timewise :)
I still fire up my mame cab weekly to get a good classic gaming fix, and have my flashcart on the gba as well, so <shrug>

So now you have an immaculate shrine to the history of gaming, and it all just sits there and looks pretty.

Bingo. Just like 99% of collections of other kinds (comics, baseball cards, etc..)

Collecting over playing isn't a bad thing. He never said that he didn't play them but it is more convenient with emulation then to break out an old system.
