It comes with all of the parts needed for installation and the tester which is used to make sure the chip is installed correctly.

Does it work in a slim PS2? The solderless chip, that is.

Solderless chips are for versions 1-10 only. They will not work in a slimline PS2. Also, be advised that v9 & v10 require soldering one wire between an onboard chip and a hole in the mobo.

I am an advocate. Installed one last week and I'm loving it. Horror stories are exactly that. If you're careful it's pretty simple.
