King of Fighters: Maximum Impact

Ever since this game came out my friend and I always dismissed it. We thought "KoF in 3D, a train wreck waiting to happen." As most people would know most 2D fighters have crappy results when they cross the dimensional boarder to appeal to the mainstream more.

Recently I finally buckled and picked it up. From the first fight on I was amazed at the quality of this addition to the King of Fighters series. The fighter was on par with the past titles, the added moves to adapt to 3D are executed flawlessly, the character models are beautiful (no need for HD TV to see that LOL ), and the overall graphics are stunning.

I suggest if you haven't bought this title yet make the effort, it's only $20 new at gamestop and $18 used so theres no excuse not to get it.

By the way the dvd that comes with it is pretty cool since its the 10th game in there series. It's the 10 year anniversary dvd.

Yup. I paid 50 bucks for this the day it came out. Good game... not worth the $50, but a good game.

Bought it, played it, loved it.

My only gripe about the game (aside from the horrible voice-overs) was the ultra aggresive AI that loved to keep whipping on you while you were being knocked back, lying on the ground and getting up.

The AI was all out attack and it was quite amusing. Cheap, but amusing.

And the only person that i hard time with is the end boss Duke, about the cheapest, and hardest f'ing boss i have played since the end boss In Guilty Gear (giant full screen lazer f*ing horrible).

Beat KOF Maximum Impact. Not a good game, infact its a bad game IMO.


I dont know whats up with story mode but basically the story goes something like this.

Random Clown guy: "You next fight will be against (insert name)".

Then you beat the fighter down with who ever your charictor is.

Random Clown Guy: "Your next fighter will be against (insert name)"

And this goes on till you get to the second to last fighter at witch moment clown guy appears and says.

Random Clown Guy : "Sorry to keep you waiting your next to last fight is against (insert random name)."

What the hell kind of story mode is that!!

The grapics are not all that great especially with the dropped frames. Then theres this little bugyness with K' if you hold his heat drive his leggs get all jittery.

Bah theres too much more bad crap to wright about. I'd better stop now.

want to know the trick, jump over and uppercut and get away. Do that and you should get him every time. Also uppercuts some times gets him out of his specials. but its about the only ways to get through that.

I've seen Nez play this one a few times, and while it's funny, it doesn't seem like a very good game. The funniest part is one of Kyo's Supermoves, if held down, he will wait until you let go to finish the little "sassy catchphrase".

this game is great, I have had a blast with this one for a while, too bad there is no one online or at least not too many online, but the offline is great, oh and the soundtrack... perfecto

I don't like online play so it didn't matter to me. It's too impersonal for me, i like to school people that are in the room, that why I can physically see them cry like the b#tch they are LOL.

I got this game last year and traded it in awhile back. It was a good two player game at first, but it was far too easy to beat someone after awhile. The last boss was extremely cheap, it's never a fun moment when you're defeated 5 seconds in a round.

I was traumatized by Street Fighter EX... so I chose to completely ignored the 3D KoF. Maybe a rental is in order? :hmm: The only 3D fighters I play is Soul Edge/Calibur and VF series... how does KoF: MI stack up aganst them?

I'll let you all know what I think about it, after I actually play it.
