I know most games here talked about are the classics, but considering there are still some companies putting out quality arcade games (on simple PCBs, with 2D sprites, and all the good shit) I figured I'd post my recent Xmas gift to myself.

ESPGaluda II: Cave's follow-up to their manic shooter ESPGaluda (duh). Currently only in the Japanese arcades, but will hopefully get a PS2 port sometime around Summer.

That is mega sex right there. And not cheap. Price alone is what keeps me away from any of the Cave games. Still, totally sweet - enjoy that puppy!

Indeed, I am enjoying it. I've probably played several hundred credits so far, and only had it a few weeks. I can get to the last boss, but it is a bitch this time. There's an ALL CLEAR video on Hameko right now - #3612 if you're interested. A ver good run, although he goes into "safe" mode around stage 5.
