Ok we're all use to the best game in <insert something here> but how about a "what's the worst game" thread?
Since no series has more crap then Megaman, what game is the worst?

IMO all of them are enjoyable(most of them use the same engine)... I really enjoyed it UNTIL the PS2 versions... X7 and X8...

Mega Man X7
Mega Man X8
Mega Man 64 (controls were horrible during the Submarine battle scene)
Mega Man Network Transmission (Cube) (I think I would have liked this one a tad better if it had some way to link up to the GBA games)

O crap... in that case...
I'd say MegaMan Legends for the PSP... craptastic.
Lack of second analog stick really hurt the control in that game...

I think it was the lack of everything that hurt that game, what a pile.
I'll have to go with MegaMan Soccer on this one, even though MegaMan 64 and MegaMan Legends were pretty awful as well.

Megaman soccer is the real one LOL

I would have to say Legends/64 and all of the PS2 3D MMX games.
On a side note I didn't think Soccer was all that bad, it was good for a few laughs, and the remixed music was nice. Probably helps that I only paid about $14 for it back in the day.

There is a Megaman Legends game for PSP?

As far as the original series, Mega Man 6 by far. That game has no redeeming qualities. For X it is definately 6 too, Capcom forced that game and it has no redeeming qualities. Game Gear Mega Man is horrid too.

From what I've played (MM 1-7, MMX 1-4), Mega Man 1 is the worst.

out of the Megaman games that I've played, I'd have to say Megaman Legends for PS1(i think) is the worst. I also didn't like Megaman 8 for PS1 either.

X7 was pretty bad because of the 3d part. I never gotten into the legend series, but have tried them, not the best. I think Mega Man should stick to 2d platformer, altho Battle Network is pretty cool :)

Although not an official MM game, there's this one fan game which is so bad that it does'nt even have MegamanX's walking animation!!! It just shows him sliding across the screen whenever you press left or right!!!

I'm going to go with X6. I left that X7 was actually a step up in quality compared to the horrible cheap level design of X6 :(

Definitely MegaMan soccer.
It just doesn't have the 'MegaMan feel' to it, you know.

I'm going to go with Megaman Legends 2 on the ps1. It did nothing to improve on the first one.
Megaman 64 was horrible to, as the ps1 version is better.

I can't stand Megaman X7 of Megaman Legends/Megaman64
I can, however, enjoy a yearly game of Megaman Soccer...go figure.

Mega Man 4
1-3 were fine, but 4 was really just missing something...probably orginality
Maybe the controls were so tight, maybe the levels weren't as fun...i'm not really sure. All i know is that game didnt "do it" for me like the previous 3.
BTW, Skull Man...Wood Man wants his weapon back.
Didnt one of the games have a "Junk Man"? WTF?

I loved MML, it was a great change and very very entertaining [plus the voice acting, not too shabby either].
Plus it went on to spawn 1 of my personal favs, Misadventures of Tron Bonne. That game had 1 of the best voice talents I've ever heard.

those 3d mega man games that came out for the ps2 sucked real bad. all those mega man zero games that came out sucked too. really the only good ones in my book were the ones that came out for nes/snes and thats about it.

Although I've never played them...I've heard those Mega Man games for DOS were utter crap (I've seen pictures of them, and they look horrible). I've also heard that the Wonderswan version of Mega Man & Bass (Rockman & Forte) was pretty crappy.
As for the worst Mega Man game I've played, I strongly agree with everyone who said X7 and X8 were the worst. What horrible games. I really thought the X series went down the tube after X5, which was a pretty decent game. I didn't care much for X6, but the PS2 ones were the worst by far.
I also thought the Mega Man game on the Game Gear was pretty crappy.

Wonderswan Rockman & Forte (damned WS sound limitations fucked up all my favorite music tracks)
I'm trying to best not to say X7.

I've also heard that the Wonderswan version of Mega Man & Bass (Rockman & Forte) was pretty crappy.
My main beef with that game wasn't the result of the game itself, but rather of the Wonderswan's lcd screen with the crappy response time. That screen made otherwise easy games damn near unplayable with its insane amount of bluring/ghosting.
To date, I've still not beaten one stage after the introduction stage on the actual hardware. I'll have to run it in an emulator sometime so I can actually beat it :(

I like Legends and enjoyed Command Mission (other than the voices, arg). The later NES games seemed to be lacking something, but they also added cool powerups so it kinda balances out. X series kinda lost me after 4, 4 was great though, even though I have lost ALL the skills I used to have at that game, heh. I hear X7 is terrible but haven't played it myself.
Honestly I can't think of one offhand that I straight up think is BAD, just not my taste (ie the network games i couldn't really get into). I'm sure if i Played some more of the high-numerbed X series I'd find something I thought was bad (I did play X8...it's ok but nothing special).

I didnt find this game THAT bad :) The only problem is that you cant see all the holes in the ground. So if you dont know the map you might end up jumping straight down a hole or hit some spikes.

I can't believe it took like 27 posts for someone to mention the DOS games. That should be the first and only answer to this question. Those games are TERRIBLE. DOS Megaman is to NES Megaman what Atari 2600 Pac-Man was to Arcade Pac-Man, maybe worse.
And now I'm going to try and defend GameGear Megaman, because I liked it, personally.
GameGear Megaman may not have been that original, but it was pretty fantastic for its time. Not only had there not been a colorized Megaman handheld game to that point, but there also hadn't been a game that extremely faithfully ported the graphics and engine from the NES games.
Of course, because the GameGear had a low resolution, they had to "zoom in" the screen to keep the graphics perfectly faithful, which is why there's the occasional blind pit out of vision. No, it's not a good thing, but it doesn't come into play that often.
Still, I got that game as soon as it came out when I was but a wee lad. I was so excited that I could take a colorized MegaMan game on the road with me, and it did play exactly like an NES game, so I don't see what was terrible about it.
Sure, they lifted levels right out of MM4 and MM5 and just kinda sandwiched them together, but hey, at least they were good levels to begin with.
Plus, and most people don't realize this, but GameGear Megaman is the only 2D Megaman game where the powerups bounce when they hit the ground. I get a kick out of the fact that in this game where they were too lazy to make brand new levels, they still saw fit that they HAD to change the powerups so that they bounce. It's so stupid, but somehow charming.
Really, when a company is asked to take an NES franchise and put it on a largely incompatible system like the GameGear, they could've screwed it up so much worse than they did, so I'm glad they still managed to get a very playable game out of it.
I really enjoyed the Battle Network games, and was highly, highly disappointed by Network Transmission. So my vote goes to that.

The pc games weren't "bad" per say..
I remeber buying a street fighter collection that came with megaman megman 3 sf2 and sf2 super something something as well as the movie (the good live action one..not the shitty cartoon one(s) ) and an awesome 6 button pc pad.
the only problem was the joystick wasn't compatable with either of the mm games, it sorta kinda worked on 3..but it was always hitting down (just I callibrated it right..it was just for that one game)
I think the reason people hate those two games is the fact that they are unforgivably hard. I once got up to the wily stage on the first one (at school no less) but used up my energy tanks and really couldn't continue,
3 I never could get anywhere in due to lack of controls (not a keyboard gamer)
but for worst megaman game?
the tiger lcd megaman 3 hands down, I can think of nothing else unless rocman on nes counts ;-)

i forgot about the dos mega man games. i think all that needs to be said about those games is that they were made by hi-tech expressions.
mega man x6 is probably the worst console game of the series that i've played...
-bad control; the buttons are mapped oddly to the controller.
-very uneven stage difficulty, they were either hard (blaze heatnix, blizzard wolfgang, metal shark player, rainy turtloid) or easy (the rest).
-bosses are all easy for the most part until you get to the gate stages, where they get really hard (the first boss there, twin cell, is super hard; i barely managed to defeat this boss after many, many tries).
-rescueing the reploids is a nice idea but actually rescueing a lot of them is very hard and once they're gone, that's it, they won't appear anymore. what's worse is a lot of them give you useful items.
-a half-assed translation; most/all of the spoken content is in japanese, and the text is either engrish and/or poor grammar.

Anyway, I'd say the one for GameCube.
Pretty horrible.

Mega Man X5 killed my enthusiasm for the series. Too much time spent reading dialogue, not being able to collect everything in one go, the 'grading' of how you did in a level.
I don't like the fact that Mega Man Zero has grading either, but it at least introduced enough new elements that didn't cut into the pacing of the game too much.
