This is a two part question:
1. What is your holy grail of hunting in the wild?
2. What do you always wish that you could find in the wild?
My answers are:
1. Panzer Dragoon Saga used at Game Crazy for $44.
2. http://www.digitpress.com/DP/cmf/game.cmf?gameid=16562

my ultimate holy grail in the wild would be Secret Agent unreleased proto for the Atari 2600.
The #1 grail I want to find in the wild(that is attainable) is a Nuon Player.

Absolutely nothing
2. What do you always wish that you could find in the wild?
Would have to be a gold NWC. I never plan on buying this game for what its worth (unless my NES collection is complete and I reallllly want it), so finding it in the wild would be just gravy.

If I can consider my days at goodwill as the wild (think of it like..the wild came to me instead of vice versa), then probably my semi-complete odyssey gear.
As for a semi-realistic thing I'd like to find out there...I still really wanna stuble upon a laseractive with a couple games on the cheap. That would be nice.

I picked up a Dragon Force and a Sega Saturn for 60 Canadian dollars. That was my best find ever, I'd like to find any half decent Saturn game in the wild that's all I'm asking for.

1. I found an Atari 2600 Malagai for $3 once (no PM's, please, I already traded it long ago).
2. I don't really have single grail to look for in the wild anymore save for a few items I remember seeing out there back in the day but passed on because I "wasn't into them" at the time such as a Bally Astrocade and a TG handheld. Always strike while the iron is hot, my friends.

1] One of those $5 classic Macintosh computers everyone always says they find in "GoodWill".
2] "Out Of This World" for GameBoy.
Later!

1.) I once found a huge, wooden box with nintendo charactors on it (no, it's not a custom). Now it's basically the center peice of my entire collection
2.) a lot of things, actually:
- any games that I don't have
- misc. prototypes for various consoles/games/accesories/other
- test carts/discs
- debug systems
- display units
- [at least] ROM's of unrealeased games
- ridicoulosly rare games/systems/accesories/other
- a truckload of NES sleeves (I'm all out :( )
basically, everything a collector could want (all at an excellent, or at least decent, price ;))
