FS: SMS prototype of "Dinobasher"

Hey,

I could do with some frogskins, so I'm looking at selling this game I have. It's probably a press review copy if not a proto, as it's in a standard cartridge case with a production label, and comes in a SMS Codemasters black case, but no inlay.

I'll see about taking pics if there's much of any interest.

That guy that runs SMS Power kind of annoys me.. asked me to donate stuff, send carts to be dumped (but wouldn't send me a dumper to do it myself - hello, what's going to be more rare, and why should I trust you more than you do me?), and then turned around and outbid me on stuff on eBay. What's that all about?

Afaik it havnt been dumped. Checked through some ROM collection that suppose to have all SMS games released (665), and Dinobasher isnt even listed.

Sorry if you're holding grudge against me. It's correct that I've been incitating people to donate, because well, everyone pull on his side and I've been spending 90% of my money since years into gathering SMS stuff and the help I got was and is still invaluable.

I can send you a "dumper" if you want, but fact is that even I have problem dumping certains cartridges, namely those based on EPROM, because the existing SMS Reader design doesn't handle all electrics signal properly and for some reason certains carts (not only EPROM, generally those with other chips, CodeMasters games or GG pirates cartridges) often cause problems. I rely on various techniques to dump them (easy if the EPROM can be removed out of the socket, or using a SMS running modified BIOS to read the data and copy to a RAM cartridge plugged on another port of the SMS). If you wish I'll send you the whole setup if you want, but frankly I think it is easier to send a cartridge, tracked/insured than a bunch of flackly hardware, particularly because I know for sure that a CodeMasters prototype will be annoying as hell to dump (and my lame skills doesn't help).

But I got and understand your point. And I am sorry if you had a bad opinion of me. I heard similar comments in the past from another individual holding a prototype and have to agree that my past behavior wasn't always proper. I'm just yet another unperfect human trying to do his best and focusing on a same project.

I want to buy your cartridge, I'll dump it and release it publicly free of charge so that everyone can play it. Hope you don't mind this behavior. I strongly believe in sharing of those historical stuff.

Verdict is harsch:
"Aimed smack at the less discerning end of the 8-bit market, Dinobasher is a pretty dire platformer. Surely everyone is sick to death of dinos. It's prehistoric poo poo."

Now I recall that post-Jurassic Park era.

Looking at the pictures somewhat reminds me of Cosmic Spacehead's platformers sections (which are the worse part of the game, the adventure part being actually interesting), also from CodeMasters.

I can't believe these scumbags would actually want to dump games and release them for FREE!! Whatever happened to trying to milk every red cent out of the consumer? Sorry to bump this topic, I'm also unsure if this kind of discussion is welcome here, but I've now successfully dumped the prototype cartridge and a ROM image is freely available on my site. See: http://www.smspower.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=36393
I thought it would be pertinent to post considering the game is unreleased and as of yet only a single copy is known to exist, so collector should have to revert on an image.
