whats the deal with the legend of zelda preorder disc?

I ordered through EB online and they gave me a choice of either. I chose to get it in Feb.

I'm glad you've asked because I've been wondering myself. I pre-ordered Zelda before they made the official announcement but I'm pretty sure I'll still get the discs. I'd better anyway - that EB is on thin ice with me as it is.

i preordered through ign.com and am getting it shipped to me on the 17th for t he extra $5. :)

The gamestop's in my area had to get $15 from the people who pre-ordered to secure a disc.. They have stopped and now if you didn't put $15 on Zelda by Feb. 3 you could not be secured the pre-order discs. This kinda sucked for many as they were told on Xmas that for $5 you secured your copy for when Zelda:WW came out but now if you came in on Feb. 17th to a gamestop and showed them your receipt they would not hand you your pre-order disc(s?) you were promised.

The store manager told me about the $15 pre-order increase a few weeks ago so I'm stll ok. She said it was because of Nintendo not gamestop. Apparently Gamestop got so many pre-orders that they realized that they could not fufill one to everyone. This led them to change things so that the uninformed would be left in the cold.

As for EB, I've told my story about pre-ordering Zelda:oot at an EB 2 months before the November release and getting off from work and EB not having a gold cart for me and not refunding my deposit because they had grey carts in stock.

I got a slightly different story that Raedon got. My store will take $15 down and then you will be able to pick up the pre-order discs in Feb. If you don't put the $15 you will get them when the game is released. Possibly to offset the cost of shipping the discs out early? I'm not sure on this whole thing.

I reserved a copy of Zelda the other day at EB Games. I was told that by putting $15 down I would get the previously unreleased U.S. Zelda first,then the new Gamecube Zelda in March. Anything less both games in March.

@DP I've been told by a few sources, including our store's Nintendo rep, that the bonus disks have already shipped, and my assumption is solidified even more when I look at your email from EB. I'm still not 100% sure on that one, though, but it would be a pleasant surprise.

BTW, has anyone tried the Wind Waker demo yet? Unfortunately Gamestop only ordered enough to cover 1/2 of the stores, so our store is without one.
