Well I have got engaged and we are starting the wedding planning (not until Oct.21 06) but still has to be done.

While my fiance is doing most of the planning, I have her pretty much convinced to use the Zelda theme (orchestrated) for the Groomsmen and Bridesmaids to walk out to. I really like this Idea.

But, I have one more idea that I am not sure how I should bring up.

When the Bride and Groom each take a candle and light a third one, I would like the candles to be golden triangles. Her's wisdom, Mine Courage and use them to light Power (the third candle).

Is this silly? How should I approach this idea?

Remember my Fiance is not really a gamer.

Thanks.

well... i would NEVER EVER put a video game theme on an event as important as a wedding. I can understand making a VG themed party... but a wedding? To me that is just overdoing it - maybe i'm just not hardcore enough to understand...

but then again - that is my opinion and my life

If you want your wedding Zelda themed...that's fine by my me, but since you wanted an opinion here it is.

Well I certainly do not want to go all out theme wedding, but being that gaming is such a part of me. I think the musical nod makes it more personal.

Plus only select people at the wedding will really know what it is.

I think its great that your incorporating a zelda theme, just explain what it would mean to you if the triangles were used instead of the traditional ones. It would probably cause more confusion if you tried to explain exactly what exactly the golden triangles are so just say it represents something like the bond between husband, wife, and children. Just leave it as some what of an inside bit. Why don't you incorporate the opening music to final fantasy 1?

Hey, I think it is cool your finance agreed with it. I wanted the ESPN theme but it got nixed quick.

errrr.... i'd be happy with her allowing you the one song :) My girlfriend is not a gamer and things would not be good if I were to suggest something like this. I believe it safest to allow the girl whatever she want on her wedding day.

Congrats by the way :)

P.S Some Castlevania: SOTN music might be good for a wedding.

Thats really cool that she agreed to use the zelda song for the bridesmaids/groomsmen to come out... I dont know if I would push "too much" for anything more IMO. Which one is more meaningful to you? The song or the triforce candles? I would go with one, but both might be a little over the top... (just speaking from what I learned from my marriage just over a year ago)

I just got married in October and I used the main Star Wars theme as the recessional. I also used some other orchestral SW pieces, such as Anakin's Theme and Across the Stars throughout the ceremony. My wife and I are both Star Wars fans, although she's not quite as crazy over it as I am. My point is that BOTH of us are into Star Wars though.

I think if she agrees to the music, then it would be cool, but adding to much of Zelda theme wouldn't really be fair to her since she isn't really a gamer or a Zelda fan. Remeber it's HER day too.

Thank You so much, I think I will not worry about the candles.

By the way, She recently started playing through the Ocarina of Time.

Once again I really appreciate all of the honest feedback from my peers.

Moody gothic music? O_o

I just don't see how it fits with a wedding.

SotN has some very whimsical tunes, too, and some rockin' electric guitar to boot.

I will be utilizing the Matrimelee soundtrack. It has been pre-approved.

I know you already said that you aren't going to be worrying about the candles, which in my opinion (and if it matters, I am a girl gamer), is a good thing. I just wanted to give you my reasoning.

The candles used in the ceremony already have their own symbology, and to add video game symbology on top of it kind of lessens it. The candles represent your life and her life becoming one or her family and your family becoming one - different people have different interpretations.

The song, however, very cool and subtle. Just make sure it's good quality.

Congratulations on your engagement and best of luck! :)

My fiance is into games moreso than a lot of people here, and she would not want anything game-related in the wedding. Me? I wouldn't want any either, but that's just me.

My fiance

I find it amusing that every time you refer to her now, you do it as if no one knows who she is. Is this a calculated move to purge her identity from association with the forums, or a mere oddity?
