Today was quite the score. I had bought a used DS to replace the top screen of my recently received Mario Kart LE (that my fiance had gotten me online) due to a stuck pixel that was in the middle of the screen (sucked). Made my repair, but could only return the DS for store credit. Not as good as I had hoped, but what I got with the resulting credit more than made up for it:

ourchased the 20th anniversary Micro and used the $10 coupon that came with it on the DK King of Swing... but apparently they took the coupon off twice, once on the system, once on the game. i didn't even notice until i was out of the store. no real loss for me :) also picked up the thunderforce and shockwave assault at the same gamestop.

snood 2 came from best buy, and clue and cliffhanger came from a local thrift.

Metroid Prime Pinball for the Nintendo DS

The Pac-Man Plug & Play TV Games joystick (also featuring Bosconian, Galaxian, Dig Dug and Rally-X). This is only my 2nd of these joystick "systems"...the other being Ms. Pac-Man though I like to call it The Mappy Joystick since what I mainly play on it.

I already have a Coleco and Super Action Controllers. The reason I bought this system was for the cart titles I didn't have, which include:

Centipede

...It was the 3 R5's in this stack that made it a worthwhile purchase. The rest of the carts, controllers and system will probably wind up on Ebay soon. Nice way to end the year. 8-)

I picked up a 3DO FZ-1 w/ two controllers for $30 at Bookman's!

This is especially wonderful because it was my last-ditch effort to find something cool before Xmas, in my budget range. Now I have the holiday to enjoy the 20 or so 3D0 games I've picked up over the last few months that have just been waiting for that console.

So....for good or for ill, don't bug me this weekend because I'll be playing AD&D: Slayer, Starblade, Gex, Corpse Killer, Monster Manor, Psychic Detective, Guardian War, Incredible Machine, Hell, Blade Force, Shock Wave, and quite a few others....most of them for the very first time.

I love that new console feeling......
